I've just had a flash back to Widnes away when they first came up to SL (2002?) - Bailey was at 2nd row that day for the academy before the main game IIRC and was awesome. I'm pretty sure he bagged 2 or 3 tries that day, and I'm sure they all came from him running the similar line as he ran tonight for the Watkins try.

| Quote: G1 "You know me and refs, I rarely bag them. However tonight he seemed to referee the two sides completely differently. Bluey hinted at this in his extra time interview. On the commentary, you could clearly hear him warning KR on the run about being off-side and not having two feet over the line on a number occasions. yet he adopted a zero tolerance approach to Leeds for the same offences.
I've seen poor refereeing displays and I've seen awful displays. I can't recall seeing such a biased display in the past.
He'd have needed to award us four penalty tries to even up the advantage he was trying to give Hull KR tonight. Terrible display by him. Gritty display by KR and a great display by us in all the circumstances.'"
I don't like to comment on refs until i've watched a game a second time as watching it 2nd time is more like watching as a neutral. Plus, you notice more.
I just feel its too easy to lean towards your own team watching it for the first time. I diud think some of the decisions were a bit one sided and Sinfield doesnt usually get frustrated like that which lead me to believe he felt aggrieved. I'm still 80/20 over the Webster no try.
TBH though I thought I was on the Wakefield board at first.

Bluey commented about how the 10 metres were being policed very differently and he seemed, for him anyway, pretty peeved.
I think the Webster no try was correct. There was probably as much doubt as Donald's. Clarke called it immediately and Kear agreed. The ball changes direction completely when Webster knocked it on with his left hand.
Still, you play for 80 mins and when you've had a penalty count like that in you favour and the VR has chalked off two of your opponents tries if you pack the game in you've only yourselves to blame.
Felt a little sorry for Whelam (sp). He'd done a decent job on Senior before Baily trampled him.

| Quote: TDR "He lamely tried to even things up later on by handing Leeds a couple of penalties and sin-binning a KR player.'"
Typical of Bentham that he couldn't even manage to do that.
12-5 overall (I think) to HKR.
The game was lost by their own inability to retain possession, particularly in the second half. It didn't look like they got to many kicks after the interval and Hall's performance had given them every incentive to do so.
Quite apt really, coming on the same ground as Vince 'five thumbs' Fawcett's infamous 'on - drop ball - off' performance.
Oh and Ryan Bailey was superb tonight. Best forward on the field for me.

Credit to him though, he didn't hide. He made a couple of howlers in bad weather which were not his usual thing. Scored a good try and did plenty of work. I think on balance he did alright.

Agreed - I still believe that the step up to Super League is a step too far for Hall.

That's a bit much mate.
He made a couple of mistakes but has improved his game no end imo and he proved that at old trafford.

I think Bluey will look at it like that too.
Barrie Mc was dropped for the CC final for the same.

He certainly had a howler, and would also have been held to account if Webster's try had stood, but I'm not going to bin him over one poor game.
It's a very big ask to play in Super League, the potential is there, but for me I'll leave it to the end of the season to see how he develops.
He's definitely going to be on the receiving end of a few high bombs next Sunday

| Bailey - I am not his biggest fan but he did have a really good game last night - I hope he is ok for next week and that he can maintain consistency.
Hall - Better he had a howler last night than next week IMO
Bentham - Total @*&$ - No one has mentioned the Diskin tackle when the HKR player was about to offload but Benthan had decided that he had called held. Sinfield actually said to Bentham "I am allowd to question" - or whatever he said and Bentham wasnt interested.
I had to go to work on sixty minutes so cant comment on anything after that. Did Bentham warn us about the next offside and its a sin binning? He did warn about the backchat - or can he sin bin for the odd thing here and there??
I wonder what the Sea Eagles think based on last nights viewing?
