| Great win that. We were patient.
Though little Tom was excellent tonight which is good to see.
It was clear Catalans came to spoil the ruck but as I said we rode that out and took our chances in the second half all of out trys were excellent

| TNW, O’Connor and Bentley very good. Fus and miller showed good flashes too. I don’t think too many wingers would score the try he did, and once he got going he was a handful on that edge.
I thought our ruck play sped up massively when Smith and Ackers went off. We got lots of other stuff right to help but I thought Jarrod was much more direct from 9.
Still some silly mistakes to cut out, but because of how Arthur has changed our approach, being off the pace a bit isn’t fatal like it was under Smith.

| It was good to see us up the intensity in the second half to combat Catalans terrible tactics. I’d hate to have to watch them every week.
It’s such a shame that Fusitua has been injured for the majority of his Leeds career. I think there is a really good player in there somewhere. Happy for him to head off at the end of the season but it’s a ‘what could have been’ for me.
JOC for me was MoM. Line speed, aggression and dummy half play all outstanding. I’d get him signed up long term.

| The most valuable person playing staff and management wise is Bradders .
Never ever thought we could flog Wigan and beat the bully boys Catalan with the midget team we have.
NRL coach what we should have had after Brian Mc better late than never.
Back him and let him recruit what we need and we will prosper imo.
I can see green shoots.

| I cannot see the value in Ackers - what does he do that Johnson can't do?
Great team performance - Arthur has started to instill some steel into that team.

Based on his few first team outings and the reserves game yesterday, the answer is defend, Johnson doesn’t seem up to the physicality. Interestingly for a spell in that game he went in the halves and Sinfield went at 9.

| INOUTMcNamara moaning about the ref is funny, with the way they 'molested' the Leeds players on the floor our 6 agains and penalties could have been double

"Leeds is the greatest club in Rugby League"
Alex Murphy 2011: |
|
| Thought we’d recruited Rohan Smith as attacking coach when I was watching that first half. After a really timid, clueless 80 minutes offensively against Wire we really looked like we were regressing. Good job we found a spark in that second half. We’re still in the fight, but based on the last two games, 40 minutes out of every 160 isn’t going to get us over the line. The plus side is Arthur has seen it with his own eyes, let’s trust he can get us firing better in the final third. The big plus is we didn’t appear to cop any more injuries. We’re gonna need every first choice player available in this last push.

Whilst we haven’t seen the best of Ackers and he has been a disappoint so far, but he is a tried and proven class player, Johnson is not and never will be he same level, JOC is younger than Johnson and just getting better snd better.
Think Ackers is a bit if the Lee Crooks in the transfer deal, and didn’t really want to come here, But crooks was player of the year in his second season at Leeds

Tackle. Johnson also looks too small.
Johnson hasn't taken his chances well this season IMO. If a player comes on fresh from the bench they shouldn't be going to sleep at marker when we're defending our line.
Ackers looked a lot more promising at the start of the season, I wonder if he's carrying a niggling injury or two (hence why he was starting from the bench some games back?).
By the way, kudos to Momirovski for his pass for Fusitu'a's try, Sky were raving about it. Shame about the one he threw into touch earlier though.

| The biggest conundrum for me is Cameron Smith. We look better with O'Connor at 13. He might be small, but he's such a natural rugby player, and he can spell Ackers at hooker from there as well. TNW plays more like an NRL 13 - an extra power player in the middle.
I'm just struggling to see where Cameron fits. He works hard, but he's the opposite of dynamic, sometimes looks like he's running in a foot of mud, and his playmaking is just so slow. He doesn't seem to fit at all with the way Arthur is trying to get the team going. Maybe an off season working on a different role will help, but he's looked really poor this year, under both Smith and Arthur.

| I think a good pre season under Arthur will be the making of Cam Smith. If he gain half a yard of speed by getting a bit leaner, it could really take his game to the next level. Also having a couple a prop or 2 that can help reduce the amount of tackles he has to make would also help

| It wouldn’t surprise me if Cam Smith is carrying and injury. Pace has never been his strong point but the latter part of this season he’s been so off. Last season he also had a bit of a step at the line that allowed him to break some tackles, that also seems to have gone. Could be the captaincy weighing heavy but who knows.
