| Good signing
Probably not quite as big or athletic as Nene, but still plenty big and athletic enough, much more natural centre, better Skills, better defender, more intelligent rugby player.
Overall, an upgrade, and considering Nene was one of our better players until he buggerd off, finding an upgrade is a good piece of work by the club.

I don't think it's a fluke. He's a very good player. Just think we need to be careful in our player valuations. I don't think this is another Walters situation. Even with Martin's return to the second row McDonnell deserves a starting spot on this years performances. Competition will be fierce though, as it should be.

Or good for Fus I might be tempted to play Mom on the right.

Fair enough - I wouldn’t be letting one of the best young players at the club go much longer without tying them down if it were me. We were prepared to extend Bentley for 2 years when he’s barely played more than Fus this year (low bar) and in my humble is simply not as effective as McDonnell. If I was McDonnell I’d be wanting to be recognised after a very good year.

Honestly Mom is likely the better centre of the two so I’d play him in his preferred position.
It bothers me that Newman suffocates his winger too much. I’m sure he’ll improve but I think his passing game would be more effective left.

| Sorry - think Mom has played both sides and seems pretty quick too.

| The best finisher we have if he stays on the field is Fus, I hope he's paired with mom

Same. I don’t know if Harry might work better with Handley - Ash is a senior player and maybe might guide him a bit who knows.
Another reason to switch Newman left is because Simpson is coming through there and if Newman gets injured or leaves, we have someone to cover as well as Martin.
Anyway whichever sides they play that is a decent centre partnership for 2024 in theory.

| Mommo seems like a decent pro aswell (you don’t play for the teams he has without that) and hopefully won’t disrespect and let his coach and team mates did like Nene.

| Yeah another thing I’ve noticed is Miller, Frawley and Momirovski have brains. This is an underrated asset for RL players - I know people blame RS but some of the on-field stupidity from our players this year has been head-slapping, literally.
Although your recruits are NRL rejects let’s be honest; these guys play quick and get the game.

| think Frawley might surprise a few people, maybe not with flashy plays but with smart ones.
I also think Miller will be a gem in SL

| Miller is exactly the sort of player that goes well over here. Good skills but will thrive in the less structure/broken field compared to NRL.
Frawleys job is to feed the back line and move us round. If he’s calm, steady, fit and available he’ll be an improvement on what we had.
Mom could be a real shrewd bit of business for all the reasons said above. Great pro, good athlete, and imo someone I think could get the best out of fusitua.

Would you switch Newman and play Mom right hand side then?

Y’know, I think you’re right.
Marty Smith was never flash when kicking his teams around the park. He was steady, reliable and did his job. As long as we have signed Croft, he can do the flash stuff and leave Frawley to do the basics and keep us ticking.
