Hooker in The GB team that last won an Ashes Series in Australia(1970). I saw all 3 matches with Tony featuring well in wins in the last 2 having not played in the first which Aus. won convincingly.
Been watching the game for over 7 decades now and Peacock is the best Leeds prop I have seen.

| The game is different now though . The modern game I would say JP . In the 50s we had Don Robinson a regular in the Test team for awhile .in the 20s Joe Thompson. Roy Dickinson who was no mean shakes himself always says Mick Harrison was best he saw . Steve Pitchford too.

Others from that era Hugh Waddell, Dai Jones, the Raynes.

| Maybe the best prop to play for Leeds will be one of Tetevano, Mik or Holroyd...
My money’s on the tank, in a few more years.

Dont know why people bag Mathiou yes he was not exactly dynamic, but a sold enough player former Australian school boy international, rarely missed tackles or made mistakes and a surprisingly good set of hands, his dummy and try at central park brought the house down.

I actually think he'd be more suited to todays game. Like you said, he had decent hands
