Top 5 - I dunno, may be possible. There is only about 1 converted try per game points difference between Hull and us, I've never seen such a tight grouping aside from top 2 and bottom 2.

However the gap between us and Saints is around 23 points per game.

The Leeds squad now is probably closer to Saints than the squad from a few months back, but still.

If we do make the 5, I wouldn't rule anything out because it's all about form and momentum at that stage. We might just have Ward back in the squad again by then too which would give us a boost.

For me I'd never look a title in the mouth... but if we finish 5th I wouldn't want to see the steam taken from our rebuild efforts.

We look like a mid-table side with the changes over the last month or so, but IMO the next 2-3 recruitment decisions will decide whether we're truly competitive again.

Funny thing is some of the same people in this thread are now commenting on us getting relegated just a week later lol.

Some peoples views are as consistent as the teams performances.

But there is a very fine line between bottom of the league and 5th place this year. There’s 8 points between 5th and 12th place. For comparison there’s 10 points between 1st and 2nd place.

The way we played against Cas is good enough for the top 5.

The way we played against Hull kr is bad enough to be relegated.

I just want us to get out of this season safely . The management has an enormous job in the off season.

5 games remaining we are 6 points off 5th place. It’s a big ask but we now need to look up instead of down, until it’s mathematically impossible.

If we play like we did against Huddersfield we could win all 5 of those games and gain 10 points. Our game against Saints will be against a reserve side and when we play Warrington it will be a dead rubber for them. Catalan and Salford at home as well as London away should be winnable fixtures.

We played well last night, but our defence wasn’t massively tested and we still made loads of handling errors. I was delighted with the win, and enjoyed watching the game. But I thought Huddersfield’s performance was the worst we’ve seen from any opposition this year. They made us look good.

I’m enjoying our win, but for me we are still hugely in the relegation battle. There’s a scenario this weekend where there could be 5 teams at the bottom on 18 points, and that includes us.

All of this is correct but our points difference is almost like an extra 2 points for us and if and its a big if, we can win our next 2 games that’s a lot of momentum going into the final games
