| Baldwinson looked promising in his first two 1st grade outings - reminiscent of a young Adrian Morley IMO - he then went to New Zealand and has looked nothing special since his return. No idea why he hasn't progressed but suspect it's coaching related.
Don't agree with the comparison to Singleton who quite sadly is the nearest thing Leeds have to an enforcer in the pack. What a time to be alive.

Aye, the young Adrian Morley was a wide running, athletic 2nd rower, so the comparison to a young Morley seems strange. I can only assume he meant Chris Morley instead.

Maybe, not many players come back from the NRL better players. Eden perhaps, but he's come back to play the easiest position in the game, so it's hard to tell if he's actually improved or if it's just his weaknesses are less exposed.

| Quote: Charlie Sheen "Baldwinson seemed to struggle with the physicality of SL in the limited time he got. I actually think he'd be better than Singleton as the 3rd or 4th prop, but I don't think he's a big loss. There's a definite bias towards academy players at times. The likes of Singleton, Baldwinson and, Lilley are average, and when that averageness gets exposed, it's because they weren't used correctly or given a fair chance.'"
Why is everyone taking digs at Singleton? Without him we would have absolutely zero line speed in defence
As for defending academy players, I think most people would just rather we gave our own kids a chance than buy bang average players instead
Galloway is one who gets a hell of a lot of praise on here for a bloke who never brakes a tackle, never forces an error with a big tackle and rarely gets a quick ptb. If he was a 20 year old academy player he would be slated as not good enough.

When you get real talent - he played for the GB U18s - its sad for the sport that they don't develop. The talent pool is thin enough without real talent going to waste through ineffective development.

That is entirely possible - not sure Baldwinson falls into that category

Not so sure on that Tad. He should have gone last year, left it too late IMO.

I agree with this on the proviso he isn't playing every week but as a rotational fwd option id also offer him assist jnr Coaching role if he wants it.
For me Delaney Ablett & Ferres can go obviously it won't happen all at once but i think its time for a decent sized over-haul.

I know what you mean ,but if we play well and beat Saints on Friday would that be or current form?

| For all those slating Baldwinson who has been given very little game time or it seems development.
Do you think we will be a better team with Ablett and JJB in our side the rest of this season and next season?
I also see Bentley now confirmed as going to Saints.
Now that imo is a big miss for Leeds.
The nearest best thing to come through the ranks since Bateman.

Singleton gets stick because he's barely improved in the 5 years he's been a regular in the first team. He's OK as a 4th prop, but I get the feeling the club are trying to make him into some kind of pack leader, but he simply can't do it. Compared to other young props in the league that have come through at the same time as him, he still looks the same as he did when he first came into the team.
As for Galloway, he is, and always has been twice the player Singleton is or will ever be. We've missed him massively in the last few games. If he was English people on here would rave about him.

Baldwinson & Hallas are the main reason Bentley is joining St Helens and not us. The development pool for some youngsters just doesn't happen at our club.
