| I really don't understand why mcdermott has continued to name players on the bench and not use them in Keinhorst we have a very versatile player who can do a job in the backs and forwards today we could have brought him on and moved Moon to the halves and kept Sutcliffe at full back where he has been playing better rugby lately.

| Quote: tad rhino "sutty was poor but he needs a regular position. he's a half back trying to learn to play full back. our erstwhile coach started him at full back, switched him to loose forward, then to the halves, then back to full back. no wonder he looked shellshocked'"
With Zak gone he should play at fullback as he looks more comfortable with more time on the ball and is decent enough defensively that its not an issue, he can move into the halves when certain aspects of is game improve such as kicking and game management
I have no idea why he was moved away from fullback, I assumed we would move briscoe to 9 and goulding to the wing, but we decided to throw the game away instead
As for the criticism, I think he must be shagging Gotcha's misses

I wouldn't have minded trying Moon in the halves/Keinhorst at centre, or trying Keinhorst at hooker today but just doesn't look like McDermott will try those changes.

| Today epitomised our season really, beaten by a team that was prepared to move the ball and was better coached. We weren't the best defensively, but not for the first time, a defensively weak opposition weren't asked enough questions by our amateurish attacking style. It really is woeful and summed up McDermott's plight of being totally out of his depth against better coaches. There is absolutely no point spending valuable training time on the paddock if we are just going to turn the ball inside for 5 tackles before we make such child like, unbelievably poor plays on the last. McDermott is gone at the end of the season, he knows it, we know it. What is making the end of the season so toe curling for me is the stubborn, helpless style of play that will be employed till the end of the season when we can all breathe a huge sigh of relief as we overcome the Giants of Batley etc. A few words on Sutcliffe who seems to be a much debated player after this game, I thought he was ten times better than Golding at full back. Safe under the high ball, and not afraid to take the ball up from his own line. As for Golding, he can surely only get better with experience, but his frailty under any sort of high ball has become more than a slight problem. At this moment in time we can get away with giving him game time, but become the middle 8's, he can't be anywhere near the full back position. As for his kick offs, whose bright idea is that Mac ? My missus would have caught every one, with her eyes closed, after three bottles of red wine, with her laces tied together, having being spun around 50 times. Leave the kick offs to Sutcliffe for god's sake.

| Quote: tad rhino "it was a shambles. swopping full back twice? really??? non use of a sub, again. the halves were nowhere to be seen on the last tackle option. time and again a prop had it. sooner macdermott goes the better. he really has lost the plot.
collina, the best football referee in the world for years, was asked if refs you don't see are the best. he replied no, its the ones with the balls to make a last minte big decision are the best.
on that basis thaler failed miserably'"
After that I agree about McDermott, the whole swapping about bit and leaving on ablett and not playing keinhorst at all was madness. Our last tackle options were dreadful. We often go through sets with 5 one man unsupported drives. Then on tackle 6 - do we set up a kick? no. we try to play basketball like a group of men who have never met and taken speed.
If hetheringtom thinks we have little squad room and all is good for next year, he needs to give his head a shake.
The last 20 minutes were shamboiic.
They are out of excuses now. Have had 2 weeks to prepare for that game and come up with that. An under 12's team could have set up for a drop goal better than that.

Errrr hello, how many times do I have to say on these couple of threads that McGuire and Burrow were poop? But that doesn't excuse the equally poop Sutcliffe from the criticism. People seem to be blind due to age of a player. He was equally as poor as the two previous mentioned. I said the pivots lost us the game, that is your halfs, hooker, fullback, Sutcliffe playing in two of those roles in the game. He is not good enough for either stand off of fullback, and the other two want clearing out also.
I agree with you on Cuthbertson, who has no brain. I agree with you on the JJB liabilities. Achurch was Achurch for me, nothing of any quality, but certainly not as poop as the others mentioned. But going anyway, so irrelevant.

| Do we practice last tackle plays? Where is the organisation on tackle 5. If we honestly think there is any future with McGuire and Burrow at 6 and 7 then we are totally f*?£%d. Bring on the middle 8s and pray that we are not involved in the 4 v 5 playoff (I cannot see how it is titled the MPG).

Because they were awful, Burrow especially so. He is no team player at all, with no one understanding what he is doing next. A little run here and there may look good individually, but that isn't his primary role, and dome one needs to play the role he should be.

JJB's effort was again beyond doubt. He was the man who got hanbury behind the try line and won the disputed drop out. Asking him to do 80 mins is a bit much. Pity we did not have a faster sub who could have come on and given him a rest.

Burrow is a headless chicken running across the field with an occasional duck and scoot forward.
As for JJB he's had his time but now he's done.

| Some people on here are far too keen to keep bagging the same players. JJB's effort is unquestionable. Achurch made good yards and won more collisions than he lost. Sutty was solid at full back.
Burrow was at fault for at least 2 tries, but we failed to replace Sinfield, so Burrow plays in the halves. Golding, L.Briscoe, Cuthbertson were atrocious

Love to know how you worked that one out.
First try, Watkins passes Thompson on despite being in position to make the tackle. Had Burrow jumped in, it would have left a 2 v 1 on outside him.
Second try, Watkins again flies out of the line and leaves a massive gap inside him for Joe Mellor to step through.
Third try is entirely down to Luke Briscoe ball watching.
Fourth try comes from Briscoe spilling a bomb and Hanbury making Sutcliffe look silly with good footwork.
Burrow maybe has 50% of the blame for the first one for not reading Watkins' mind, but how you have him down as to blame for any of the others is crazy.

Whilst I had some guy behind me screeching that it was Burrow at fault for the first try I think it's Watkins at fault.
