No they couldn't but guess which coach gave Gale his Super League break at Harlequins?

Quote: nantwichexile "Nope..second row is his best position (and he should be considered a starting second rower now). He gets exposed on his lack of pace a little too much in the centre position. He is our Ablett MK2.'"

He is a good centre he has enough pace for the position.

...and BJB icon_biggrin.gif What an uber coach. Credentials indeed for getting his latest club off the bottom of the SL ... He deserves his chance on this basis alone icon_biggrin.gif

Quote: Juan Cornetto "Watkins may have good feet but Keinhorst has far better hands and is a more intelligent player with his positioning and lines of running and he has a bigger heart. When Moon is back I would drop Watkins or give him a run at fullback.'"

Watkins was at his best when played with BJB on his outside - never had the same understanding with Briscoe.

I think I was (once upon a time in ancient history) an advocate of Hall to centre, but not 2nd row. - but I'm sure you'll dig out a post from eons ago if necessary to prove your point icon_biggrin.gif

Jamel Chisholm...we'll never know. But it does appear that McDermott destroyed his confidence by not selecting him. If only he could have tried a little harder and reached the dizzy heights of that epitome of a much more worthy and oft selected winger: Joe Vickery icon_wink.gif

If true...why not have tried switching wingers? Briscoe played all his Hull career on the left wing...and Ryan has proven his credentials on the right wing are just as good as on the left. (at least in recent history)

Give over. His combination last year with Briscoe was very good, typified by the Wembley performance.

Quote: DHM "I never saw what Lunt did any better than McShane, let alone a half back that can't defend the middle.'"

Mcshane had defensive frailties and didnt offer much running out of dummy half
thats the reason we got Aiton- a better defender and runner- who actually turned out to be a top quality all rounder when fit

why we got rid of aiton is a bit more of a mystery, wonder how much more catalan pay him than we pay falloon...

You could have played inside Briscoe against such shocking opposition - please don't use that as an example of quality centre play. Watkins was excellent for the first 2/3rds of the year at breaking the line. His passing to BJB was sublime - different skill set - something he showed very little of last season

The season Briscoe signed (and immediately got injured) I think he and BJB played outside Watkins about the same number of times and I think both were well into double figures for tries.

Watkins doesnt get used as he should. We need dummy runners inside him to create space for Kallum but that never happens so hes used to take ball up and made to tackle as a back rower. Its criminal really.

As for Keinhorst, amazing workrate every week, snuffs out so many attacks with his defence. Hes a limpit, if he gets his hands on someone he sticks to them until they are tackled. Unfortunately tho his lack of pace will always stop him being a top centre but what an outstanding man to have in squad.

I heard Catalan offered Aiton £40k p.a more than Leeds had which was circa £80k p.a. I cannot verify this but believed the person who told me.
