You've got a better memory than what I have for what I have apparently previously said...
Maybe I was p*ssed that day or evening; or had a bad day with the wife. God knows.
Bring back Jamel Chisholm that's what I say: that could solve all our problems

Eeee those were the days. We need that bloody hooker back in the Aiton role asap.

Garbutt's nearly 27 - surely one of your senior props?

Props don't hit their peak till 29/30 so in that regard at 26 he has a way to go.

"Leeds is the greatest club in Rugby League"
Alex Murphy 2011: |
|
| Quote: HAILESY "i think when the ground hardens up we may see a better play and more yards out of him better than mullallay not convinced by him and achurch is made of biscuit or very stale cake'"
I think Mulally has potential. Apart from Brad Singleton none of our forwards have run hard enough or straight enough to barge over from a couple of yards. Maybe they've not had the right sort of service, but the amount of time and territory we've had on opposition try lines has resulted in some limp efforts from our props. I think Mulally could be effective from close range in getting us some dirty, scruffy barge overs from a couple of yards. All the best teams down the years have benefited from being able to smash through from close in as well as scoring the Hollywood tries from way out. I would be giving him a sustained run in the team and not just giving him one spell a game.

| Runs like he's wearing concrete boots, continually looks like he's going to get penalised for holding down?
Picking up the 2015 Jamie Peacock role nicely then...

By Leeds standards 27 is a borderline junior. 36 is an age for a senior prop.
Perhaps inexperienced would have been better choice.

| I think he's been exactly what he is. Solid yards, decent work rate, and takes some putting down. He's made around 100 yards per game. There's room for improvement, but he's been decent so far IMO

| He's an old-fashioned solid prop. In many ways exactly the sort of player left behind in recent years as the role becomes home to monster athletes. He'll do his job but won't dominate games or produce fireworks.

As Sgt Wilko said, solid, not spectacular. But I think you'll get consistently solid performances from him.'"
^^^^^^^This.
What also needs noting is that JP often got the ball he wasn't expecting from a standing start when that clearly wasn't the move called but was able to grind more metres KG is not and was never meant to be another JP.

Yep they've set up for certain moves in every game thus far but either an individual player ignores it or it collapsed ,admittedly not enough different options are getting thrown at the opposition but there have been times when a certain set shape was in play but not executed.

| From what I've seen so far he's a solid Aussie grafter type that doesn't make spectacular runs but won't let the side down. Cuthbertson and Garbutt may look more impressive going forward but they tend to be involved in more high-risk plays that wouldn't be tolerated in the NRL (the former especially).
He's the kind of player that adds some steel in the middle and may well help to stop us being bullied by some of the bigger packs this year - much like Australia are rarely bullied by the more physically impressive Kiwi forwards. We've plenty of players who can make attacking incursions (esp. with the addition of Ferres to the pack).
I would be interested to see some stats on metres per carry and time on the field for our forwards so far this season before writing him off in this department.

| was garbage against hudds, how galloway/cuthbertson and mullally struggled to get the better of basically a one prop team in rapira on friday was poor. (smith injured after 5mins, johnson/mason youngsters)
