If we win it will be the performance of the year, their at full strength and weve got 8 possibly injured, the bookies would still have had them as favourites if that was reversed
Saints and Wigan though should both win imo, no Pearce or JWH and no Hunt or Reed- if you dont include milford thats them both missing their best 2 players

Greg Eden is starting on the wing for Brisbane, will be interesting to see how he goes.

| The choice of referee has, ontop of the poor start and injuries, all but sealed Leeds' fate.

Oh well with all our injuries perhaps we should bring Keith Senior back, he and Silverwood got on so well before in the WCC.

| If it wasn't for the WCC this Sunday I wouldn't feel half as bad as where the team is at.
We've lost three very influential players, one of which is arguably the greatest ever captain we've had. We had a mixed up preseason because of the flooding. We started the season without JJB, Falloon and Ward who would definitely be in our 17. Added to that Mullally who offers cover in the forwards with super league experience.
First game of the season we give Warrington, who are one of the comps best sides, a real good game. Dominating territory for a lot of the match and if we had a goal kicker would certainly have gained at least 1 point.
After a preseason of training with our new half back pairing of Sutcliffe and McGuire. (One who'd not played a game in 7 months) picks up a calf strain but has to play on because his partner and new captain go off injured after twenty minutes!
To add to all that losing Briscoe, Ablett and the young Golding I really don't feel we can judge so harshly the start of our season.
Like I said at the start, if we didn't have the WCC on Sunday I really wouldn't be so worried, it's just cos we have a big game on Sunday. People say it's just a glorified friendly, but I'm sure to players won't see it like that. I certainly don't. All I want is for the lads to do us proud. If we get hammered it looks bad for us and for super league.
Of the grand final 17 I reckon only around 10 will play on Sunday.

Pete Smith on Twitter said Ablett is the least serious (although still a major doubt for this weekend) and Golding has a "possible" broken bone in his foot.

| I heard Ferres say we could have up to 8 regular starters out on look north tonight.I reckon maybe a little mind games going on.The touch and go injuries will play imo.I really do think Leeds value this game and have been targeting it since end of season.wouldn't be surprised to see faloon play too.

Why? Has an Australian referee been selected?

No, a much worse choice.

Ablett and Briscoe are in protective boots. Mullally is playing this weekend, and they are pushing JJB to be right if possible.

This has been suggested before.....and I have to agree it is surely better than starting with Burrow with all the additional defensive, detrimental repercussions that entails against a side like NQ.
McDermott once surprised us all by starting Clarkson at DH with good success; Keinhorst would go even better I believe. He's a similar tenacious tackler who can hold his own in the middle, but who could probably do more offensively. Burrow (as is best) could come on from the bench to mix it up a little in attack.
Fingers crossed though that Faloon makes it
