45465_1384791340.jpg And last but not least, to all those people who wrote this team off.
To all those people who critisized this team...tonight's for you.

| Are we talking big hairy-d rugby players here or the local Morris dancing and flower arranging society? Jeez. So someone has had an affair, big deal. That's life.
Ferres is a fantastic player, end-of. If he is available, sign him.
Agree with some that it would make a fantastic Jeremy Kyle episode.

982.jpg [quote:1pqtnbtj]Every player in our squad could probably earn more money with another club. But they prefer to sacrifice a few extra quid in their back pocket to share special memories. And playing at a place like Old Trafford on a night like this makes it all worthwhile.[/quote:1pqtnbtj]

| Quote: Andy Gilder "Leeds have a job to do, and that's assemble the playing squad that has the best chance of winning all the available trophies in 2016.
Would Brett Ferres - from a playing perspective - enhance that? Of course he would. He's on a level with Ward and Ablett as the best second rowers at the club.
It's alright taking the moral high ground, but you don't get medals for that. If the management at Leeds think he could be integrated into the squad, then they should make enquiries about bringing him in.
As it is, I think it's something of a moot point as I can't see Huddersfield letting him go on loan to another contender for trophies.'"
I agree with most of this post and you were being erudite and articulate until your final sentence implied that Huddersfield are a contender for trophies.
There's really not much to discuss here. On the field he's an excellent player. The Leeds management will consider how they handle off field issues.
Whilst we've always had a great team ethos that team has often contained flawed individuals.

| A couple of points;
1 - It's a low act, about as low as you could go, but ultimately, it happens every now and then, and unless anyone has any allegiance to Huby, IMO most people will just look at it and think 'he's obviously a bit of a ****, so I won't be best mates with him or get to know him too much personally, but he's a good player who'll add to the team, so happy days' - they can have a successful and professional relationship whilst still being wary of his past off field actions
2 - the women of Cas must really be a desperate breed - I can't believe 2 of em have let him have a crack - he looks like an over grown inbred dwarf....
So to summarise, he can play, if our players are happy to welcome him in based on his ability, go for it....

Ooh, you mischief maker
Leeds teams of the past - trophy winning Leeds sides - have had players in the same side who couldn't stand each other and have come to blows over it. As a professional sports person, you've got a job to do. You don't - and shouldn't - be spending your time at work passing moral judgement on the bloke next to you either in the gym, in the changing room or on the pitch.
Plenty of people in all sorts of team sports have managed to get by perfectly well playing alongside people they frankly couldn't stand. No reason this should be any different, once the protagonists involved have gone their separate ways.

"The Golden Generation finally has its Golden Fleece! They have Wembley Cup Final winners medals to add to their collection."
23/08/2014: |

| Leeds have several players, Hall, Watkins, Hardaker, Burrow, Ablett who have been in the same England squad as Ferres to judge him as a person OVERALL and whether he would be a good (and acceptable) fit at Leeds.

Ferres is a brilliant second rower. I don't care a toss what he does outside the 80 minutes he plays rugby. And neither should you!'"
There's not getting on then there's sh##t#ng on a Team mate they are 2 totally different things & as for the "Rhinos Family" nonsense listen to the Players and staff.
As for your final sentence what he did "away from the RL field" directly effects the lads he plays alongside and thanks for the advice but i'll stick to making my own mind up what does or doesn't concern me wrt who plays for the team i support.

| Thinking about it more - there have been incidents on a similar theme in the not too distant past at Leeds... One certain well known 'love rat' was having it away with one of the cheerleaders (which his wife found out about) who was seeing one of the other players.
Clearly this wasn't as serious as the Ferres incident as there weren't 2 sets of settled families ripped apart, but I do know there was a fallout between the 'love rat' and the other player and his group of mates. Interestingly in this case, it was the cheerleader who ultimately left the club...
Things happen in life, some blokes simply can't resist and get carried away 'in the moment' when it's available on a plate, regardless of the potential consequences and often against their own principles or normal decision making process - I've known plenty of blokes (myself included) who've done things they shouldn't when a woman is involved, whether that be affairs, one night stands, or big fat ugly munters....
Whilst it's certainly not a good trait, it doesn't mean they can't be a professional sportsman or relied upon in a rugby team environment. Ferres clearly didn't value his friendship with Huby enough to take the time to think about what was happening and resist, but as long as nobody at Leeds is impacted, I don't think the players will be THAT bothered - they'll no doubt have an opinion on Ferres, but that won't affect their professional duty as a Leeds player, but will affect how close they get to know him away from the field.

No it doesn't directly affect the lads he plays alongside! Stop building it up to be bigger than what it is!! It affects Huby and that's it. That's why he's not at Huddersfield anymore.
Some people on here amaze me. Just because he's had it away with Mrs Huby, doesn't mean he's going to make a b-line for your missus. Paranoia or what?

| It doesn't have to mean Ferres is going to do it to somebody else's wife and everyone should be worried. It means some players are friends with Craig Huby and will inevitably take sides. That's a division you don't need in any sport.

| Are we in for Ferres? Not really been keeping up to date with this. Has his move to Sydney fallen through?

His move to the roosters has fallen through but I've not read any article linking him with a loan move to us. Hull FC and Salford have been linked in the press.

Cheers.
Although the circumstances wouldn't be ideal , like most have said. I think we should be trying to sign him.

In my experience, blokes generally don't give a hoot. I know lads who have done this to each other and I'm still mates with them both. No need to over dramatise something. Leave that to the women

| So what's the point of the thread? The OP asked peoples opinions then starts bitching at those who don't agree with him! Bravo! FWIW I wouldn't touch the square-headed buffoon either! Fire away!
