Maybe the club has learned from that episode?
I believe that Cuthbertson has brought his wife/partner/girlfriend with him which is bound to help him settle down, unless she finds it hard to cope without her family.

Leeds is a great city one of Europes most vibrant. If you like European style city living surrounded by great country side, then you will love living in Leeds, if you only
Like the sun and beach you will struggle. Just the same as and English player who likes high culture, you eillbe bored just sat on manly beach.
Interesting that aston Simms is a massive metal head, well he's gonna love living near manchester, with all the bands he'll get to see,and the big UK music seen.

| He's also older and arguably more grown-up than Eastwood was.
Cuthbertson's 29, Eastwood was 23(?) I think when he came to Leeds. Bit more mature, bit more worldy wise about living overseas maybe?

| He has good hands, passes as well as offloads. Just shows you that footballers in the front row are a real assett, big men who can take the ball up the middle and keep it alive. If you don't have that option you don't have a balanced attack.
What we lack is someone who can bring the pain. Kylie used to be the one who hit like a lump of concrete, he's done it for years but father time has eventually caught up with the big man. I've always thought that the lower divisions were good places to find big, hard forwards. We need to unearth another Darren Fleary from somewhere and then we will have great options in the front row.
Speaking of tatooed Australians, Delaney looks shot. Am I being harsh or has he finally reached the point where his body has said "enough is enough"?

You knew Eastwood didn't want to be in Leeds. The visa issue and then him playing a year with the Bulldogs in the interim and getting settled in Sydney blew any chance we had of getting 3 years out of him.

| Cuthbertsons performance against Wigan was one of the most enjoyable I have witnessed from a Leeds prop. His offloads are eye catching but his work rate in all other areas of the field are note worthy too.
Also great to see Yates thrown into the action when it was very much game on. Thought he got stuck in and took a few cheap shots well, just got on with it.

That's what happens if you can't get a proper pre-season in. He's the exact opposite of Stevie Ward, who has reaped the benefits of finally being able to put in a couple of months in the gym and out on the training field.
Delaney's going to be playing catch-up for a few weeks, but the only worthwhile way to get him the minutes he needs at the right level of intensity is by playing him in the first team.

Isn't this a contradiction? Stevie has benefited from a couple of months of training and not playing week in week out. Maybe Delaney will benefit from a month of preseaon type training with some games with Hunslet. After all, we're pretty strong in the back row

The work you do in the off-season and pre-season is entirely different to what you do during the year. Pre-season is about building muscle mass and getting miles in the legs, while during the season is about recovery and maintenance.
Ward, with an off/pre-season finally not hampered by shoulder problems has been able to do that. He can maintain now during the season.
Delaney hasn't been able to get that muscle mass on or miles in the legs because of his various pre-season injuries. You could take him out of the first team group and give him a four to six week "mini pre-season" now, but that would mean taking someone from the conditioning staff away from working with the group to do it. Plus the intensity of pre-season isn't necessarily the right preparation to be doing for competitive games.
As for going out on dual-reg, the pace of the game in the Championship is really no preparation for how quickly things move in SL, IMO.

| After the Warrington game where Delaney made his returned he said ideally he would've played a few more games for Hunslet before returning but the injury to Achurch meant he was recalled sooner. We could've always given Walters that bench spot instead. As regards to Delaney, I think he was solid enough on Friday considering he didn't play any RL for 6 months and was rehabing most of the off-season. If several games down the line you're saying the same thing about him then you might have a point.

Fair comment.

| The incredible thing about Delaney is he actually played Centre, his ball handling is simply atrocious.
