Quote: Tony Soprano "It's not surprising that Cas will take more than Leeds, I doubt you would be able to get any tickets right now if it was our first final in 20 + years

Should make for a cracking atmosphere'"

Yep. In the 16 seasons since the Grand Final was introduced there have only been 4 seasons in which Leeds haven't been in a final.

It's no wonder the novelty wears off after a while.

I don't think for one second we'll be outnumbered by Cas fans. Yes, as stated by others, the likelihood is that there'll be more Cas-supporting people in the ground due to almost all 'neutrals' siding with the underdog.

Leeds fans are more relaxed when it comes to Finals due to extensive experience. We don't all need to rush down and queue at the ground for hours the day after the Semi. There's over a week until the Final. Plus, we've learnt how easy it us just to get tickets from the RFL and still be sat amongst our own fans.

In the build up to the Wigan final in 2011, it was all negative with most Leeds fans discussing the margin of which we'll be beaten, hence the slow ticket sails. Didn't GH state in the YEP before the 2010 Final, that he was led to believe, through information from the RFL, that there were expected to be 40,000 Leeds supporters? I doubt there'll be that many this time but I'd expect around 30,000.

I was up home in the North East all weekend so couldn't join the masses in the queues on Sunday for a ticket. So I just went on the RFL ticket website, chose where I wanted to sit, (South Stand - as ever - but more to the Leeds end) bought it and (£2 admin fee aside) had no issues at all.

With how easy it was, I don't understand why anyone was there queuing like nutters on Sunday. Were any of you? What is the reasoning behind it? By Sat night, I was sorted and booked up so didn't have to stress myself with hoping someone would then answer the phone in the shop on Sunday.

Easy! icon_smile.gif

Ditto. Do it that way every year. Wouldn't dream of queuing on the Sunday morning, especially in the tail end of a hurricane! I'm sure people have their reasons though.

I was going into Headingley on Sunday afternoon so thought I'd may aswell grab our tickets then. The ticket office was empty, the phones were busy though and I was told by the gent in the ticket office that people were queuing at 4:30 am!. I wanted block 111 or 112 but had to settle for 110, maybe that is why people were there soo early, not worth it though surely.

Well over 20k is what the club are saying has been sold, only tickets left are upper tier down the sides for us and I've been told there are only a few thousand of those left.

It's going to be a great occasion and probably the best atmosphere at a cup final since the new Wembley opened.

I hope the game lives upto it has its the potential to be one of the all time great finals.

Times like this I miss Cardiff. I prefer the city centre location, but also, with the roof closed the atmosphere is something Wembley can't touch. The 2003 and 2005 finals were the best atmosphere I've come across watching any sport.

Cardiff is much better than Wembley. Old Trafford is better still. Wembley is awful.

Totally agree. Of all the venues I have watched CC GF & WCC finals I enjoyed Cardiff the most. Travelling aside, every time Alex Ferguson used to have a moan about the pitch at OT after the GF, I had my fingers crossed that the RL would move it to Cardiff.

I'm surprised the upper tier has sold slower. I bought my ticket near the front of block 523 on Sat night (top tier on the south stand) so would have a better view of what is happening when play is down the other end. Have people just snapped up where was cheapest first?

I thought I would push the boat out a bit with my £42 ticket but when I looked last night, only about another 150 tickets in my area had been sold since Sat!

Wembley Stadium itself is OK, but the other grounds are catching it up so fast that it hardly has the same "massive stadium monopoly" that it used to. My big issue with it is location. It is very easy for me to get to from here, but I'm not sure that access from South Warwickshire is one of the RFL's main criteria. It's a trek out of London, and there's naff all to do around the ground.

I'd prefer to keep the GF at Old Trafford, but the voyage south has always been part of the Challenge Cup ritual, so I'd prefer Cardiff. The stadium is probably better in many ways, and having it right in the city centre is a major plus.

I'm not totally convinced that we really need a "national" stadium anymore, given the plethora of great facilities dotted around the country (Old Trafford, Cardiff, Emirates, St James's etc would all be good venues for the national football team, for example, and the same could apply to RL).

Cas and Leeds were allocated the same amount of tickets for the final so neither side should be outnumbered significantly - it should be fairly even. All depends really on how many Cas/Leeds fans bought early through RFL but I know quite a few who have done that and do so every year.

I reckon it will be about same personally.
