| Quote: DHM "Same here. High quality player, great to see him in a Leeds shirt.'"
Me too DHM, I think he will be a revelation in our backline and will score lots of tries given the service, He also brings a new dimension to our dummy half plays whilst we are inside our own half as he is a very strong and elusive runner
That's our Back line sorted now and for the foreseeable future too IF we can keep BJB
But as the original poster predicted, it was Briscoe in and BJB out, so i reckon that there could some truth in that after all, so our academy players are going to get the opportunity to step in, as they should too IMO
Let's see now how seamlessly GH handles replacing our front row and completes the clubs transition into the next decade.......Believe

Jeez fella , a bit harsh considering he missed half a season regaining fitness from a blood clot .
All in all didnt have that bad a year IMO .

| The more I think about it the more it makes sense to put Hall in the second row. Maybe not fast enough for the wing but would have far too much pace in the pack. He could be our own version of SBW.

Benny Westwood started life on the wing, I think Hall could do rather well playing in the natural 2nd row channel with a bit more beef on him.

| So it's settled then. Beef hall up, move him into the pack and BJB and briscoe can be the wings.
Hell i think we should be running the show. Pulling all the strings while mcdermott man manages the players and delivers our instructions.

| Just because he's big doesn't mean he'll make a good second row. I'd rather have a really good winger than another average second row. It would be a gamble

| It seems we have a few more Nantwich Exiles on this board.
I've a really crazy idea, let's keep playing Ryan Hall on the wing.
Yeah, I know he's not solid under high kicks, doesn't make great yardage when we're working the ball out of our half, never had any stand out games at international level, nor made any 'world 13' team selections but surely I'm not the only one who has spotted some potential there that one day he'll make a damn fine winger?

IIRC Westwood was a centre at Wakefield, then signed for Warrington as a centre.

| Aye, let's take Hall from the wing - where he often has significant physical advantages over his immediate opposite - and put him in the second row where he can run at a load of other big lads.
Given his front on defence is probably the weakest aspect to his game, it's a ridiculous suggestion.

| I think Hall, Briscoe & Charnley would all have scored the early try in the corner against Wigan where Thornley? bundled BJB into touch/lost the ball. That is the difference between an excellent SL winger & an international quality one.

| Bollox to the second row.
Hall is already beefed up enough to play prop!
He needs to lose some beef in order to get back to where he was a year or two ago as a winger because he's been ordinary in 2013**
**I'm not a member of the Hall Fan Club who blames Moon for Hall's deficiencies.

| But then we would be spared the pleasing sight of Billy Slater breaking his shoulder attempting a shoulder charge on Hall.

| Its embarrassing when posters get all high and mighty that a player can not play anywhere but one position.
For a number of years now coaches have gone to pains to state that players need to be flexible in the modern game, and able to play various positions.
But no, let's just pigeon hole a winger as a winger and be done with.

Some may be doing that, but some just have a different opinion to you. Hall is one of the best wingers in the game. He offers advantage over every other winger he plays against in SL, usually in multiple facets. When you do a match up against another team, its always a win in that column. Do you think he has the potential to reach that level as a second row? What attributes do people think he has which will see him excel in that role? I'm sure he'd be competant, good even, but would he be world class? If not, we'd be a world class player down IMO

Not when you have just recruited an equally world class player in his position.
Did people moan when Lockyer was moved from Fullback to Stand off? there are a number of posters on here calling for Sinfield to be moved to hooker (probably same ones questioning a move for Hall) yet he was the leagues best Loose forward, then moved to stand off.
Delaney came here as a centre, was moved to the backrow, and a lot of posters (probably the same ones questioning a move for Hall) that label him the new messiah.
Across the pond there have been a number of sucessful switches of backs (wingers mainly) into forward positions over the years.
If he plays there and it fails, then you know, but until that happens it is a perfectly reasonable switch to try.
