Basic wingman stuff IMO - you pick the ball up behind your own line run as fast as f*ck straight towards the oncoming defense then surrender into the tackle so you're not pushed back behind your line - and I was a second rower!

| Yes it was a mistake. He should have run straight and taken the tackle and kept possession. But please put this in perspective. Hall in the same game fumbled the ball and also got driven back over his line. Hall also rushed out of the line and missed a tackle that led to their first try and was slow chasing back. Hall was again slow chasing back after he failed to take Sinfield's kick which led to their 2nd try. As has been already been stated Vickery gave a quicker and better chase back than Hall or Hardaker who although closer gave up. But so much easier to put all the blame onto Vickery than Hall who is also out of nick at the moment.

We can excuse Hall the odd mistake as they can be balanced against his moments of sublime brilliance.

| Sh$t springs to mind.
Hall is playing like he has just shat himself and Vickery Shats himself every time he gets the ball.
Having said all that Vickery must be dropped for next week.

| Juan -
Hall is a known quantity. I agree by his usual high standards he has been out of sorts recently - not just last night - whereas Vickery has never been in form and shows no sign yet that he ever will be. Not SL standard and hasn't been from day one, in my oft repeated opinion.
This has nothing in particular to do with last night's surrender showing - it's been evident all along and commented on throughout. Size but doesn't know how to use it, no pace, no power, no footwork, no enthusiasm in the chase. Last night Sinfield was prodding kicks down his wing and Vickery never got out of amble mode. It's all been said before and will all be said again if he continues to 'earn' selection.

Hall fumble the ball when it was fired at his legs and had to re-gather whereas Vickery having failing to catch the ball in the first instance had time to pick the ball up off the floor and then go forward 10 metres. Instead he chose to run along his line and then got clobbered proving he's a Muppet as it cost us 6 points

| It didn't cost Leeds six points directly but it gave the possession to Hull in the Leeds half that gifted them the opportunity to do so on the following set.
Was it Jones-Buchanan who shot out ahead of the line and invited Houghton through to score? Not like him to do that ..... yeah not much. Probably doesn't go down as a missed tackle with Opta though so some, no doubt, will be able to pretend it never happened.

The comments are about last nights game not career comparisons. Hall a world class winger is currently out of form and on the last 3 games has been worse than Vickery. Last night Hall lost possession and was driven back over his line like Vickery. He also came out of the line and missed the tackle which led to their 1st try. He was slow in chasing back more than once while Vickery did chase back well. So all I ask is be fair and even with the criticism.

It did not cost us 6 points. What did was the subsequent penalty and poor marker defence from McShane and A.N.Other who both went the same way which opened the gap. Hall being driven back over his line put us under in the same danger as did Vickery.
What excuse have you for Hall's missed tackle for the first try?

So who conceded that penalty, in your opinion?
The A.N.Other with McShane at marker was Brad Singleton - McShane as the lead defender signaled right and went right, Singleton as secondary signaled left and went right. Jones-Buchanan was the A defender on Leeds' left at that play the ball and shot out of the line having nominated a likely receiver. I've no doubt he's coached to do this (does it every week and always gets selected) and I've also no doubt it's asking for trouble to get ahead of the defensive line - especially when defending close to your try-line where any chink is difficult to cover in time.
The combination of the two actions opened the gap in Leeds central defence close to their line and not for the first time - indeed it's been happening all season.

I cannot believe you think singleton and mcshane were at fault for the try ,what have you been sniffing ?
When JJB is not darting out of the line he is giving penalties away. He is worse than bailey at the moment and will probably lose us 10 points this season

So both markers going the same way is ok in your book is it? By having no marker the door was opened. Without the open door their half back would have most likley have passed. JJB running out didn't help and shares blame but you have to rely on your inside man who in this case wasn't there.

I agree. But defenders have to rely on and trust their inside man, hence I usually put most blame on the inside man when gaps like this appear. Last week against Wigan the rushed defence was highly effective with JJB leading the line.
