| How is Richie Spedding progressing at the club?
I thought that he would have made his debut by now in the first team as he has always looked a quality player

| Quote: W55ARE "Not sure thats a fair like for like. The secret is to look good in a rubbish team! Which is not the case with the U19s at the moment as they all play well together.
I doubt Ryan Hall would have been looked at if he was playing for Hunslet full time and getting no service on the wing, regardless how good he is. You have to be playing in a good team to see someones full potential.
I always thought that if you were a good player then you would stand out in a rubbish team, but that is not entirely the case - if you get no service then it is hard to do that. I say not entirely the case as Rangi Chase at 6 or 7 gets the chance to bring the rest of that team in.'"
Yes... not sure the comment re Watson and Keinhorst is fair, for that matter Hood also as the level from U19's to Championship is a jump and then it's double at least to the SL. Keinhorst, Watson and Hood were all standout for the U20's and this was playing regular returning or frignge 1st team players.
The U19's play U19's, most aren't fully grown or have played regular open age rugby....I cannot see how you can compare this fairly. All three mentioned have had some strong outings with Hunslet and had praise from their backroom staff

Busy eradicating polio. Next week will be peace in the Middle East. After that he might play again.
Although when he does play, he can not be seen by ordinary mortals. He only plays in the play-offs. Why do you think our form improves so much?

A hat trick for Hunslet on Sunday, no mean feat in a rubbish side I can tell you. Especially if they don't give you the ball.
Should have had a chance on the wing by now, what more does he have to do?'" having watched them a few times this year calling them rubbish is very harsh, they easier outplayed batley for 40 minutes the other week and would have been 24 points clear and likely seen out the game if they were a bit more composed and didn't have some dodgy calls go against them including the appalling chisholm no try when he was no where near touch

I have a Rhinos/Hunslet season ticket this year (am I the only one). Hunslet are on a fine line between being a good side and where they are now - low down in the table. Unfortunately until they get a decent 6 and 7 and bin no.13 they won't progress.
They should be playing Sutcliffe in there now if they think he is the next big thing.

Not they wouldn't at all. Hunslet is for the also rans who have not done enough to prove themselves, but given another chance playing outside the clubs, or to gain match fitnes. It is not, and should never be, the next stage of development, when players are knocking on the first team door.

What a load of rubbish - you must of put this on to get a reaction rather than you actually believing what you have just written.
When you leave the U19s nowadays 3 things can happen:
1, you get binned off because there is no room for you, or you are not good enough.
2, You go straight into the first team squad i.e first 17 (Stevie Ward) but this is in very exceptional cases.
3, You are identified as being good enough and have the potential to be a SL player but need further development as it is a massive step up.
In the case of point 3 - If you are lucky enough and good enough then you will go on Dual reg as there is no where else to play. But do you think Hunslet will play you just because you are from Rhinos? Absolutely not! In fact (and don't take this the wrong way and start firing bullets), Clarkson and Mcshane were knocked back as Eaton one week didn't want or need them (before you all start, I know they are good enough - that's not the point I am trying to make). You have to fight for the place and fit in the team. You have to push out some well established players. In the case of Watson, Hunslet have 4 Full Backs and he had to wait for his chance. Hood - Hunslet have 4 Hookers, he sometimes has to come off the bench.
How I see it, is that if you go Dual reg and keep your place, then you have made a massive leap forward in your development. On the back of that - you are about 20/21 years old and there's either no room for you at Rhinos or you didn't make the cut. The U19s' next step should be wanting to go dual reg because if you don't then you will be pointed to point number 1 above.
I doubt very much Sutcliffe will be a point 2 above - he may get an odd game but the rest of his time may be at Hunslet if he is very lucky.
There are exceptions like Achurch and Moore but I cant cover it all.

You have just repeated almost what I said, in different wording. Point 3 is what Hunselt is for with regards the Rhinos.
The different wording you have used is that it is not just for development, it is to prove themselves going further.

This is what you said. I read it as if you dont go into the first 17 after leaving the U19s your .
Nobody will go in to the first 17 regularly after leaving the U19s in the foreseeable future.

No I didn't. I said just because you were going to Hunslet, doesn't mean you are better than the one's left in the under 19's. I further explained that going to Hunslet was because they had not proved themselves and could not stay at the club, as not good enough for first team and no other outlet, i.e. it was second chance to prove themselves.
Hunslet is not part of a players development. Just because someone is in the under 19's does not mean they are behind the Hunslet boys.
