That and the fact that Hudds missed out on a half back. Anderson has said Lunt will play soley at 9 so that means Robinson into the halves.
Same reason we didn't go in for Taylor and unlikely for Moon - Transfer fee and salary

| Apart from some mind blowing arrogance from some posters here Lunt is a great hooker who should be pushing for international honours.
He shouldn't have ever been transferred from Huddersfield and Nathan Brown has a LOT to answer for on that score. Brown signed 2 more hookers last season and neither as good as Lunt.

Yeah - totally agree. Lunt should have stayed at Huddersfield instead of being a member of a Championship winning side - something that he would have never had to contend with if he'd stayed at the Giants.
Poor b'stard.

| It is an intruiging statement to make that he chose to return to Huddy............I say this based upon a conversation I was party to at Wembley when the person "any bloke" would always talk to for advise told us specifically that "he wants to stay at Leeds totally",..."given the option to take it".
So a discerning reader should be able to figure who the wise sage would be and also what -£££££££££££££££££££££-- stopped the opportunity.

| Not sure what the complication is here. Let`s face it if Lunt could choose between us or Huddersfield with everything being equal i.e pay He would have opted to stay at Leeds.
He has enjoyed his time with us and had a chance of playing in the WCC next year.
It is obvious that either we would not pay Huddersfield the fee they wanted and or we offered him less than he is getting.
So no brainer whatsoever.
Now down to GH/BM who they want to play at 9 next year.
But whilst most teams are making signings we once again sit on our hands doing feck all.

| But Lunt's not a world beater. Its probably true that Leeds wanted him and he wanted to stay, but given Leeds would have to pay a fee - especially since Hudds have realised they may actually need him - then I can't say I'm that fussed about not retaining a second choice hooker.

See them stars at the top of the page? There's one missing.
But, the thing is, when there was only one, we were pleased, not cocky, pleased. We couldn't get cocky because in the rematch the next year we got beaten by a Bradford side in their fifth consecutive Grand Final, now THAT was impressive. Then we didn't make the final next year, before a run of three consecutive wins at Old Trafford, two of those Leeds on paper had no rights to win.
A blip in 2010 heralded the new dawn of Wigan greatness, all would be swept aside by the new tide of Cherry and White. Except it didn't happen, because in 2011 the Rhinos did it again, from fifth! A feat they repeated this year.
We're not mind blowingly arrogant, we're spoiled bloody rotten. This Leeds team has REFUSED to go away, they have confounded every attempt by every poster on here to write them off, as either individuals or collectively. Leeds fans today are simply UNABLE to hold any other view other than that Leeds are the best side in Britain by a street, because every time we try to believe otherwise they pop up and defy the rugby Gods.
Lets not mess about. If Lunt was financially secure, say he had won the lottery, and he was offered terms at Huddersfield and a play for free contract at Leeds. I think he would pick Leeds, because they are special. VERY special, and he would want to be part of that.

| With the constant references to pay being the only factor in where Lunt goes, people are missing what's probably the bigger factor: playing time. If Huddersfield are telling him he'll be their #1 hooker and will play te majority of every match, that's going to appeal more than the idea of playing part games as Burrow's understudy.

I think , if true, that that would be an exceptionally short sighted view.
Why would a hooker want to go back to Huddersfiled with no real prospect of development other than playing more minutes, when the alternative is to understudy Burrow in the short term knowing he will eventually move into the driving seat, whilst learning from not only in James Lowes, an experienced hooker, but also from some of the best players SL has ever seen, integrating into a team that will without doubt develop him beyond anything Huddersfield could hope to?

| Lunt would've preferred Leeds over Hudds, not arrogance just obvious. What probably happened was that the 2 teams either....
- Couldn't agree a deal.
- Hudds needed him back after missing out on other targets.
- Leeds lined up another signing.
The 'Lunt picked Hudds' line is simply decent media spin by both teams to ensure the guy is more welcome back there than he would've been had the story been 'Lunt deal collapses, forced to return'. Hudds fans will be much more happier to have him back believing he picked them over Leeds.

He wasn't getting any playing time at Hudds which is why he came on loan in the first place.
That may change now with Anderson in charge and, more importantly, with Brown moving to Widnes.
