You will have people blaming the ref but to be honest we should be looking at superstar Sam who gifted you 3 tries that we never recovered from. I thought burrow, sinfield and the whole of your pack were outstanding. You should have won by more than you did.'"

| I wasn't going to chime in but I thought I'd have my say...
Wigan were beaten by the better side, Leeds didn't become Super League champs 4 times in 5 years by being mediocre and for all those people who wrote our side off as old, past it, over the hill etc have been shown tonight that when we turn on the engines we will beat anyone. And yes, a couple of decisions went in our favour tonight BUT a couple of decisions went in Wigans favour, lets not forget the CC final last year when the referee gave decisions in Wigans favour that helped them seal what should have been Leeds game... And in a way you are correct by saying Wigan was at 40% tonight, not because Wigan were poor but because Leeds defence kept Tomkins and Charnley at bay for 95% of the game - Wigan are nothing without those 2 players ripping holes in the opposition defence... As per, opposition fans wrote us off, some home fans wrote us off but in typical Leeds fashion we silenced the doubters....
Bring on the cup final, if anyone can win it - we can!

| I thought Wigan played very well. Very dangerous with ball in hand, providing a constant threat. Stayed in the game throughout, scored five tries but it could have been ten without some heroic scramble defence from Leeds.
Leeds also played very well. It was a great game to watch.

| Wigan did not play well. 60% completion rate won't win many games. That's not taking anything away from Leeds who were SUPERB. But Wigan did not play well.

| All this guff about Wigan not playing well is utter crap.....in most sports you can only play as well as the opposition allows you to play, on the day Leeds were by far the better side and deserved their win and had it not been for a few wrong decisions taken the margin of victory would have been greater but that said fair play to Wigan for not giving in and putting the result in doubt until the last few minutes.
"Rat Boy" Tomkins is an excellent player but should stick to his own game instead of trying to run the game on behalf of the ref, sure Leeds had a couple of decisions which went our way but so did Wigan in the 2011 final, sometimes they go for you sometimes they don't but you move on, and as the previous post stated the winning margin was ELEVEN...get in.

oh and many super league games are won with completion rates around the 60% mark btw. just like many teams still lose with completion rates of 80/90%

| 2 Unforced errors in the opening 6 minutes that lead directly to tries. Those 2 were definitely down to us playing badly.
After that, yes, you forced a lot of mistakes and capitalised on them. We forced some errors and did jack all with the possession, Delaney was like a man possessed today, your MOM imo.
Also, credit to Jones Bishop for grounding his try, brilliant catch.

I've no idea what Wigan's completion rate ended as but as it was stated on the BBC to be 65% at half-time I'd be a little surprised if they only completed at 55% in the second.

Leeds weren't superb although they also played very well. They got a few rubs of the green and that probably proved to be the difference over the eighty minutes. Even after the drop goal Leeds were still hanging on by their fingertips at times with fifteen to go. Hardaker was called upon twice to make crucial tackles (bearing in mind his effort on Hock in the first half) he did well to bring down Hughes and did remarkably to prevent Tomkins going over. At the same time Leeds should have finished the Burrow break to seal the game. I thought the ball going right to Hardaker rather than it looping left to Hall would have done the trick but Burrow's delivery didn't match his break.

| The ref was poor and Wigan had an off day but if had been Trinity playing them I would have taken that. A great game for the neutral and Leeds deserved the win.

| The errors and penalties in the opening 15 minutes were mainly Wigan's own doing and that's pretty much the time when Leeds won the game and Wigan lost it. There was no extra intensity or physicality to cause problems at that point, the Wigan players just made some very basic errors again and again.
After that opening period the game was more like the close contest that some though it would be but Wigan always played like they were desperately chasing the game, even when only trailing by 10 points the players just seemed to think they had to keep the ball alive all the time and there was a real lack of composure.
Leeds on the other hand were clinical when presented with opportunities in the opening quarter of the game. A lot of the tries were nothing exceptional but just sensible, well thought out play that caught Wigan when the defence hadn't really got into the game - when the first try was scored Wigan just made the same mistakes again and gifted field position and Leeds just kept on taking advantage of those gifts. The Wigan players needed some good defensive sets early on to settle down but they failed through their own mistakes and the clinical play from Leeds near the line.

If you don't bother to go to the game when you live in the locality then you are not really a fan and therefore your views are invalid. It's simple.:icons39ad_files/4821-1859san_c-msnicons.jpg |

| The Tomkins spill was anything but an unforced error, it was forced by an excellent high kick which spiralled away from him toward the touchline. Any full back in the world would have struggled with that.
Lest we forget that two of Wigan's tries came from Jamie Jones-Buchanan coming up with soft one-on-one misses because he was too busy trying to anticipate what was going on behind the play and lost the lead runner.
