As a member of all the 21st century winning sdes jjb is a legend but part of the enigma that the whole has been greater than the parts.
Would he get in any all time sides, even from the title sides lauititi, ellis and furner would be ahead of him, but what a ball of energy and commitment.
When my old man started taking me to headingley he was still a bit disgruntled re jepsons involvement in the loss of hunslet parkside...

even if jones wasn't a player at super league level you get the feeling he would be putting in the same effort at the amature game, his charisma stands out a mile compared to others sterile interviews

I think his workrate actually causes a lot of people to overlook his quality. He's got good hands, a decent offload game and hits a gap well. I actually think he stands up quite well against the players you mention. It just also happens that he's a tackling machine. If it was an all time side that was actually going to play (unlikely I know) rather than just be hypothetical, he'd definitely be in it IMO. |
