Ah the famous RL 'family' attitude that the game is so proud of at its best.

What thou art promis'd. Yet do I fear thy nature,
It is too full o' th' milk of human kindness
To catch the nearest way.

[watching Mackay testing the curry in the prison kitchens] Fletcher: Course, he sees 'imself as an authority on curry, he does, on account of where he was stationed in the army. Rudge: Where? India? Fletcher: No, Bradford.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_40413.jpg

Why do people insist on dragging the Harris affair up and somehow keep convincing themselves that the Leeds club are major players in Bradford's demise. It would've been interesting if the boot was on the other foot and Bradford took us to the cleaners and got off scot free with how they handled the signing of the fat welsh bloke. They lived beyond their means for years and as our neighbours at Elland Road will testify it is something you simply cannot do anymore. On a final note for some of our older posters, all we need now is for four scouse lads to come in to the music scene this summer and take the world by storm and it'll be like 1963 all over again. I bet Trevor Foster is turning in his grave.

Quote: McLaren_Field "but to me that seems like one hell of a lot of staff for a professional sports club, a hell of a lot of staff, and if most of those are full time employees and not match-day only agency staff then I would be very, very surprised and at the same time not at all surprised that they are in trouble.'"

That was my thought too. Going off the staff directories on the Rhinos and Carnegie websites plus a bit of knowledge of a few extra staff not mentioned on there I get Headingley staff numbers up to around 90 including Foundation staff and Board Directors. For 2 sports clubs. Christ knows what all those at Odsal are being paid to do.

Maybe they employ some of the players wives and girlfriends as away of getting round the salary cap. That one has been flying around for a number of years and not just at Bradford.

Never liked Kevin Costner, or any other Robbing Hood!!!!:

part of the reason why the bulls playing operation has declined is because theyve cut every department to save money. my guesss, having been to the ground on non match days, is that of the 150 jobs potentially at risk, most of them are low paid / partime / agency staff employed on match days such as stweards, gate attendants and programme sellers. as well as barstaff, hospitality staff etc...

If we had the massive medical / coaching staff that some clubs have we wouldnt suffer teh injuries we have in the last 3 years. thats where the club has been making most cuts. false economy!

Quote: McLaren_Field "Just a couple of quotes from that linked-to article at the start of this thread...

If the tables were turned and it was Gary Hetherington asking you for £100 to save the Rhinos, would you send him a cheque by return ?

I wouldn't.'"

I would.

Not a cheque but a pledge to be honoured once (and not before) the target was reached. The problem I have with that article is there are too many totals flying around like confetti will realise that but she still flies, albeit I think if we make it again (and I'm confident we will) that the end of this season could be the time to call it a day without a major sponsor steps forward and I see no prospect of that.[/size

Whitehead? He's looked sharp.

But don't think any of their players would get in our team these days.

[quote:1pqtnbtj]Every player in our squad could probably earn more money with another club. But they prefer to sacrifice a few extra quid in their back pocket to share special memories. Quote: West Cumbrian Rhino "How much effect has our club had on this happening?!

Their troubles effectively started around the time of the Harris court case!'"

Their trouble started at the time that they induced Harris to break his contract and registered him as a player, despite our vehement attempts to stop them shooting themselves in the foot.

Nobody to blame but themselves for that affair.

Oh, and I do not for one second believe the damages they had to eventually pay us where anywhere near what Hood hinted at and were not anything like as contributory to their problems, as hinted at by Hood.

Unless, of course you take everything says as Gospel. In which case, didn't he say, In February, that the Bulls future was secured after the RFL bought out their lease?

Where's Mick Gledhill when you need him?
If all the season ticket holders who bought theirs for £60 (was it) paid £100 to bring it up to still less than our cheapest season ticket, would that solve the problem?
It will be intersteing to see what spin Hood & Duffy can put on this.

If only the RFL had listened to Hood and given Bradford the two points back Leeds stole off them in Cardiff.

Anyone from Bradford managed to pin this debacle on Steve Ganson yet?

As has been mentioned on the Bulls forum, making the Leeds game all pay-on-the-gate for £20 could raise an immediate £400k if the people of the city are prepared to support their club with a 20k gate, and £20 to see a game seems a more reasonable idea than pledging £100 for no clear return.

Obviously it's unclear whether this injection would be enough in the long term, but you could say the same about the pledge.

Not yet. But someone on their site suggests Leeds pay back the money we got for the Harris saga.
I`m sure GH would do that then take over Bradford Bulls on the cheap icon_wink.gif

I've been offered a voucher for 1 adult & 1 child to the Leeds game at Odsal.
The voucher gives us both entry for £5

Free & cheap tickets have been the norm for a few years, and clearly doesn't work!
