Quote: TOMCAT "A 2 match ban for an incident of that nature is shameful. The RL authorities give out completely the wrong signals with such an ineffectual punishment. Deliberately trying to injure another player is a despicable and cowardly act and could have had much more serious consequences for Chase.'"

Could not agree more.

(Lovely aircraft the P-51D by the way)

If the discplinary committee has any testicular fortitude they would triple Isaac Luke's ban and fine just for wasting their time......then add a few more for his cheek, mind you if they had any balls in the first place he'd already have a much longer ban!

Luke plays for Souths, which until Maguire takes over, has had no Storm connection.

I too remember the 1985 toruing game - probably the most spiteful match I've ever watched. The kiwis were a disgrace the whole way through the game. Amazingly, IIRC even despite their tactics (or perhaps because of them?) they only won 16-12 or similar.

Smith has been a cheap shot merchant all tournament but no individual incident warranted a SO in an international IMO. Probably the culmination of all offences.

I don't think either are that appealing. In fact Luke is an ugly fekker. Each to their own I guess

Surprised at you not picking up the connection BR - Kearney is a disciple of Craig Bellamy's, having cut his coaching teeth at Melbourne in the same way Maguire did.

Bellamy's side are much criticised for their tackling "techniques" putting opponents at risk.

Maguire introduced deliberately attacking the joints of the tackled player into the domestic game up here with Wigan.

Kearney seems to have worked similar techniques into this Kiwi side judging by recent performances.

All a bit too much to be coincidental?

It was that close as I remember as well. TC played full back and was awesome, Keith Rayne went beserk at one point. Tremendous atmosphere in the ground.
In the first test there was some "sorting out" done at the first scrum. Crooks and co belted a few of the Kiwis. I have this image of Dane O'Hara running away from Crooksy after trying to get in a sneaky one.

Agree but wouldn't limit it to just this competition. He seems to have been a cheap shot merchant in every series I have seen him

At least they've had the good grace not to appeal:

Mind you neither will miss any International nor NRL games so not much of a penalty.

Nice to see that a young Martin "Wolfie" Adams was around the Leeds Team back in the day in the second picture.

Wolfie and Wolfer in that case then.

The tracksuit on the left belonging to AS and the wearer also has a passing resemblance.

(One for the vintage YCCC fans around here to play with.)

A great advert for the game is Isaac Luke.
In the light of his latest comments he should be given at least a season's ban!
