982.jpg [quote:1pqtnbtj]Every player in our squad could probably earn more money with another club. But they prefer to sacrifice a few extra quid in their back pocket to share special memories. And playing at a place like Old Trafford on a night like this makes it all worthwhile.[/quote:1pqtnbtj]

| Quote: Andy R "I can't believe our fool of a coach is still picking Sinfield at stand off. What a terrible decision. I could almost understand it if he'd won a Grand Final playing there, or maybe a GB cap, or even dragged our club through the first couple of months of the season from that position.
As it is I think Hardaker should be there every week - he has all the attributes and iss clearly going to be a world class stand off who will go on to dominate in the NRL where others such as Inglis have struggled to make the transition from the outside backs.
Sinfield should go back to playing at loose forward where he plays the game completely differently and doesn't look to influence the game like a half back at all.'"

| Quote: BrisbaneRhino "I still prefer McGuire at 6, Burrow at 7 and Sinfield at 13. Messing around with playmakers during a game always seems a bit pointless, and makes fluent combinations more difficult.
However, given that McShane seems to be out of the picture at present, I suppose we are struggling for other options.'"
A logical option that would provide a better balance would be for Sinfield, McGuire & Burrow to play in their regular positions (13, 6 & 7) and then if Buderus needed a break move Sinfield to 9 where he could continue to play a key role.
IMO Sinfield could well finish his career in the 9 position and he already had an outstanding international appearance at hooker which is now one of the most influencial positions.

| Quote: Fallon "Whoooaaa there.
I believe the OP was simply suggesting that Sinny is not a world class standoff. I happen to agree.
I dont think anyone can question Sinnys committment or desire but he is not a great standoff. When the ball comes his way it slows down and he doesn't have the natural pace off the mark to get through a gap.
The ideal partnership is clearly Mags and Burrow with Sinny dictating from 13. The obvious problem is that mags has struggled this season.'"
Exactly.

However I dress, wherever I go and whoever I speak to; I'm still struggling to find anyone else who thinks Zak Hardaker is a stand off.
Everyone I read one of your newest theories I thank my lucky stars thanks we have McDermott as coach.

| I think the problem here is that if Danny Mags was back to his pre-injury level, then Sinny would be back at loose like a shot, BUT Danny Mags is nothing like his pre-injury best. He is far too eager to offload at the first chance he gets, and seems very reluctant to run the ball in through opposition lines like the Mags of old, and how many times since he did return has he gone down with a dead leg type thing with even the most innoccous of contacts? The simple fact is, from what I've seen Danny is nowhere near his previous level and Brian Mac has seen this too, and hence he sees Sinny as the best option available with the current situation as it is.

Then I can do nothing else but apologise profusely...I would not wish that upon anybody

| No we have choices, Burrow, Mcshane, Bedsy (for now!), Liam Hood eventually, but not Zak, whose best positions for me are either FB or wing. But Sinny is a leader who can still lead the team around even from SO, better than any of the others I have mentioned above, in my opinion.
