| Have to wonder if such a committed socialist would accept a knighthood.

Or any other medals offered by the ruling classes? If he did, he'd have to question his own commitment to his principles.

| MBE, OBE and CBE do NOT entitle you to call yourself a 'Sir', for that he would have to be knighted, which obviously he won't be.

| doesn't need any medals, surely will go down as the best captain leeds have produced. Having seen and a great admirer of lewis Jones plus all the others to many to mention and remember. on second thoughts will name a few of my favourites, John Holmes, Micky Shoebottom, Barry Seabourne, Barry Simms, Bob Haigh, Ray Batten, Sid Hynes, Jamie Peacock, D Mcguire. Marvellous how the old memory comes back when you start to put a few names down. All great players in their own positions and down to everyones opinion, but Kev deserves to be recognised for his achievments

| Just give the Man a Statue Outside Headingley in the Pose of Kicking a Conversion.
I think that would be a more fitting tribute to Sinny.

Kevin Sinfield just doesnt fit with them. He is knowledgeable, speaks well and articulately and is a top bloke. Nah - no gongs for Kevin I am afraid given the apparent selection criteria.'"
I've met both Ray French and Jonathan Davies, whilst only a very brief conversation I wouldn't describe either as a total kn8b. Both seemed fairly nice fellas to me.

Davies hates Leeds (Undercurrent of Hatred like Phil Clarke) and French should be looking out of a Window at a Home.

| Ray French is a genuinely great servant of RL, and deserves the honour as much as anyone from a sport or broadcasting background. He is, I'll admit, a little off the pace now, but I just enjoy having his voice as background noise, because that's what Rugby League commentary sounded like when I was a wee nipper.
I maintain that the man is due some respect.
I'm not the greatest fan of Mr Davies as a commentator, but it should be kept in mind that he is an international in two codes and broadcasts for two codes.
I wouldn't, however, be overly surprised if Sir Kevin gets a gong of some sort after he retires.

| How do people get honours such as MBE etc? Its it something to do with MPs putting forward individuals for consideration? If so couldnt we all contact Greg Mullholland and ask him to put Kev forward

Well he could politely refuse with dignity.I think the club should put a permanant tribute to Kevin Sinfield when he finishes then people could see his entire career achievements.I did read that the club were thinking of comissioning a statue of John Holmes as part of the south stand development.I wonder with the scaling down of the ss build if the Holmes statue will still go ahead?

I just maintain the view that Commentators should be like Players.......If they're past it, then they shouldn't be playing or commentating anymore. I'm sorry it my point seemed disrespectful, it wasn't meant to be.
And as for Davies, I really don't like him because he seems arrogant and sometimes talks out of his "Anus" like Offiah.
I'd prefer some Fresh, Knowledgeable blood from both the BBC and Sky Sports who are completely on the fence, unlike the jokers we have to put up with.

| Kev should just change his name by deed poll to 'Sir Kevin Sinfield'.
It's probably not legal, but worth a try!

Perhaps a renaming of the North or South stand at HQ would be a lasting tribute to undoubtedly the clubs greatest ever captain ?
