| Radio Leeds when announcing the team at 7.15pm said Hardaker was being rested as he had played 7 consecutive games. They got this information from Mr Lowes. He's a winger who will be capable of playing every week. Is the numpty of a coach going to rest Hall after he has next played 7 games. Hardaker as I recall hasn't put a foot wrong since he was first picked; takes the high bomb, no one gets passed him and he's a sharp finisher. As Ice Man says as a result of his omission there was no pace in the backs tonight.
The team at present just don't know what to do when in possession. There are no moves, no structure or organisation. The players bang away in the opposition half and get no where and this caused the indiscipline in the second half. Don't blame Ganson, yes there were a few "iffy" decisions but he was not the reason for the four second half penalties that won Bulls the match. As it was raining and we were getting nowhere with the ball perhaps we should have converted our penalties into 2 points.
The rediculous thing is the coach always sees the match different to everyone else. He quoted last weeks match at Wrexham as one for the purist which he is. The match was dire and whilst the conditions again didn't help Crusaders had far more "go forward" than we had and were the better team.
The thought occurred to me tonight during Tony Smith's reign we played away at Quins one Saturday, temperature approach 75 and McDermott used all his sub changes by half time. Needless to say the Quins were on their last legs. The changes weren't forced on to him either.
A decent coach will get far more out from the players we have, even though some are ageing. As for Weller he won't drop him, McD thinks sun shines out of his a*se. If McD continues we will continue to struggle and though Buderus was fully committed to the cause tonight he won't want to stay next season to play in a team so disorganised. God help us next week!

| The most frustrating thing is, that under the current coaching regime, we simply don't seem to appreciate that everything in the modern game stems from controlling the collision either in attack or defence. When we defend, we almost always lose the collision due to poor technique (remember Smith's praying technique for lining up the attacker, where did this go?) and structure within defence, with people having no confidence in those defending inside them and therefore we are pulled apart far too easily. Delaney is frequently a good example of this.
When we lose the collision in defence, it's easy for the opposition to gain penalties due to our inability to get either square at marker or onside. Tonight we saw a great example of this when the Bulls ran 4 consecutive tackles at Peacock meaning he eventually was unable to get square at marker and got pinged for a 2 pointer.
When we have the ball, again we lose the collision meaning no quick ptb, and the service from DH isn't as quick or sharp as it could be (we have one of the best DH passers in the game, yet how any times has he had passes intercepted this year as a result of a painfully slow ptb?). When you get slow service from DH then everything else is under much greater time pressure, which leads to either mistakes with the ball (how many of these have we seen this season?) or poor metres gained on the next play.
Pluto and Goofy, as I will now refer to our coaching team, either cannot see this, or are incapable of coaching the most simple basic elements of the game, and as a result must be relieved of their positions now, even if it means we get someone else in as a caretaker for the rest of the year so we can really plan for the next few years.

The players all harp on about how things are good and coach is good but something is not right at the club and GH needs to act now.'"
i suppose just bacause you like someone, doesn't mean their good at their job, you can be a sound bloke, but a crap coach, we are in transition now theres no doubt about that now imo, but we should still be performing better than we are, i agree i was fuming when webb kicked on the first tackle, had we had hardaker in we may have scored but we will never know. Mc is unabe to get any form of consistansy from the team, and that isn't helped by his poor team selections, and lack of a game plan, he's not a big enough personality for our club, take TS he comes across a little reserved, but he has the full respect of his players, and bluey he wears his heart on his sleeve but as a motivator there isn't many better.

| Can anyone give me any reason, any reason at all, why Goofy and Pluto should be coaching this great club of ours? No, didn't think so...

I've made my feelings on Diskin pretty clear. Buderus, though was in no way responsible for our defeat tonight

Why bring Diskin into it?
Is it not a valid comment that, not for the first time, our most experienced player has ended our hopes in a game with an error?

It's not a debate.
It's an agenda.

No. We had another full set coming up until Huaraki (or possibly Bailey) committed the first high tackle
You spend half your life comparing the two! I was merely stating I have no favouritism towards Buderus - I think Diskin deserves a huge amount of credit for the way he handled himself over the whole affair. No one should forget his contribution to our golden era and it would appear many already have.

| A dire performance.
While the players must share some of the blame the coaching staff are the main reason for the shambles we have been watching most of the season. I have felt all season that the talk of a more expansive style of Rugby is nothing more than a myth. The conditions in recent weeks have been poor but we have played one out no risk Rugby in most games this year. Compare this to the exciting offloading style we played under TS. I hope McDermott can turn things round but concerns held by many when he was appointed appear to be more justified by the week.

We had 5 players back up from the exiles, to play hull kr, then crusaders last week, JP, bedsy, sinny, hall, Kylie, he rested abbo he then this week rests hardaker like you say is a winger and doesnt look fatigued in the slightest! i like smith hes a tough player, but we have better options on the wing in watkins ( when fit) bish, and hardaker. we had options in the forwards, then we release biff and cross, so now we dont have many options there, and we now have options in the backs in ZH and BJB decides to to use them, both players have the ability to change defense in to attack, and both are athletic. i agree about bedsy play for mc or bennett tough choice that one

| Quote: Andy R "Do you honestly think Leeds wanted to keep him?'"
The one year contract extension suggests they did want to keep him for at least another year. He clearly had other ideas once he'd cashed in on his testimonial. Once a mercenary, always a mercenary.
Quote: Andy R "Whether he'll lose sleep over it or not, it shows some Leeds fans up to be the s that they are'"
They were booing an opposition player.
Big deal? Not really.
