"This guy Brent Webb, hes breathtaking with ball in hand but just lets himself down with ill-disipline!" Stevo v the quins.: |

| Pitts, Hauraki, Bailey would all be straight out of the door for me. Webb too im afraid cant rely on his fitness anymore and he wasnt the great player he once was. Seniors time was coming before the injury.
Like the look of the OP's team I would also put Kyle Amors name in there he has been excellent for Wakefield so far this year.

Not really convinced that amor is the answer for our front row future IMO

| A lot of unknowns and parentheses but:
BJB/Smith
Hardaker/Watkins/BJB
Top Centre (Cooper?)
Watkins/Smith
Hall
McGuire
Burrow/New young halfback/hooker for "competition". (Realistically GH not going to get rid of Burrow entirely in testemonial year)
Peacock
Buderus (McShane if Buderus gone)
Burgess (New top prop if Burgess gone. Carvell? O'Meley?)
Ablett
JJB
Sinfield
McShane (Hood if Buderus gone)
Delaney/Clarkson/Ward/Hauraki (if we're stuck)/Senior (if he gets the reduced new contract I fear he will)
Cross
Ambler/Amor
________________________
Essential priorities are a top centre and a top prop. Another halfback and a Lauititi/Eastwood difference-maker at second row (which was supposed to be Hauraki) are also required if possible.
I'm assuming the loss of Webb, Lauititi, Leuluai, Kirke and Bailey. Possibly Burgess, Buderus and Senior too. In which case we'll need more squad players and promote some youth and also to decide whether Amor and Ambler are going to make it, or whether to raid Wakefield for Johnson or Mariano. Ideally I'd be looking at players like Patrick or Watts, but realistically their clubs are not going to let them go.
And a new coaching team.

Long term your probably right but I from what I have seen this season I'd have him over Bailey and Cross for starters.

| 1 Jones Bishop
2 Hardaker/Smith
3 New Centre
4 Watkins
5 Hall
6 McGuire
7 Burrow
8 New Prop
9 Buderus
10 Peacock
11 Jones Buchaanan
12 Ablett
13 Sinfield
14 Delaney (SR)
15 Amor/Ambler
16 Leuluai
17 McShane
18 New prop or second row (if Burgess leaves)
19 New young half back
20 Amor/Ambler
Leave
Bailey (not too sure about him at the moment)
Cross (think he will want to leave)
Hauraki (likewise with Cross)
Ali (think he will leave)
Webb (same as Ali)
Burgess (will go to Aus)
Kirke (think he may leave)
Senior (retirement)
In
Tony Clubb or
Matt Cooper (to allow Aston Wilson to come in, in a couple of years time)
Antonio Kaufusi (no nonsense prop)
Ben Gledhill (Wakey prop to replace Burgess) or
Ryan Boyle
Oliver Wilkes (replace Kirke)
Not too sure on the young half back, but maybe someone like Liam Finn (not young, but backup)
Hoping big Keith gets one last game for Leeds, maybe a special friendly so his last game wasn't ended by injury

| some people seem desperate for changes simply for the sake of changes. We dont need to change that much, we do need to make changes, but throwing the baby out with the bathwater is just counter-productive.
I would lose Kylie, Senior, Webb, Cross, Ali and Hauraki. And Burgess is likely to leave regardless of what we want.
We have Pitts/Ambler should be expected to move and replace Burgess and Cross, Delany and Clarkson more gametime to replace Hauraki. BJB/Smith/Hardaker should replace Webb.
Which leaves us with 2 places to cover, Prop and and a fair bit of cap space for them. We bring in Kaufusi and Cooper next season and there is no reason a team of
BJB
Hardaker
Cooper
Watkins
Hall
Burrow
Mcguire
Peacock
Buderus
Kaufusi
JJB
Ablett
Sinfield
McShane
Ambler
Bailey
Clarkson
With Smith, Delany, Kirke, Pitts, as back up, and the option to introduce Hood, Singleton, Stewart, Kettlewell, cant challenge.

Agree re Gledhill and Boyle - Clubb is a talent - I expect him to go to Huddersfield or Wigan

| Someone will make a very useful second rower out of Tony Clubb. If we are to improve our pace and biff in the pack, we could do worse than him.

| A lot of people mentioning Cooper and Kaufusi. Is there any solid information on this, or are names being picked out of the air?

| Kafusi is and Cooper and are both OOC at their respective clubs and afaik in both cases as yet neither have secured new deals or moves to another NRL club.
Fwiw i'd snap both of them up and maybe even Corey Paterson who's a strong BR with a reasonable off-load who is avaialable from Newcastle.
Smokey i agree re-changes in terms of huge numbers but things do need "shaking up" and i'd include the coaching set up.

I your view we loose seven players from the squad and bring in two? Something needs to be done about the half back three - this needs some new blood.
