| Quote: G1 "That's my opinion. He's fast, strong, has a great engine, makes great metres clearing the line and has a try scoring record second to none. I wouldn't swap him for anyone in that list (though I'd be happy to see Briscoe on the other wing).'"
Agreed on the metres. Although because of Leeds tactics he does do an anwful lot more carries than any other winger in the league. And been the biggest of them all you would expect that. Not that it matters, because it's what he does for Leeds that counts. So drop Foster off the list I said because his metres are not all that special.
Briscoe is certainly above Hall in all facets this year so far though. Who's that Salford lad aswell again that you sometimes mention? His stats are more than comparable, especially consdiering the side he plays for.

| Quote: Gotcha "Just out of interest because we keep going on about Senior defensively, and Delaney been slow. But how many tries have we conceeded now from Hall under high crossfield kicks? I might be making a mountain out of a mole hill here, but he seems to drop at least one every single week, and surely we have conceeed over 6 trys' now because of it?
On that basis, why does he always seem to escape critisism? Is it because of the level around him (Senior and Delaney)?'"
I've noticed that over recent weeks. He doesn't seem to jump enough. He was always a dead cert to take high balls in my book partly because of his height, and secondly because of him having a unique 'above the head' bomb taking technique. Now I think that technique has become a little more widely taught / adopted, and suddenly people are out-jumping him. It may be that because of his size he is not able to get off the floor as efficiently as other wingers

Agreed. I noticed that too. We even called it 'The Ryan Hall Catch' in our house, and mention it when other wingers did it.
He used to jump, and catch it with his arms above his head, like a basketball player. Now, he's reverted to the old 'breadbasket' catch and even stopped jumping too! Don't know what's happened.

If that's the only thing he needs to brush up on then considering his tryscoring record I don't think it's too much to worry about.
It's all very well outjumping him for the ball, but when you land he'll be there. It'd be interesting to see how many opposition wingers have been launched into touch having taken a high ball
ahead of Hall.

He is certainly a damn good winger. But he is miles behind Briscoe, Watkins, Monaghan, and Foster so far this season, in that position.'"
What is your evidence for making that statement?

I don't have an issue with Briscoe, I think he's an excellent winger who IMV would strengthen any Team in superleague.

| we must remeber that a winger running and jumping will get higher than staning and springing up and like others have said it is about kick pressure to take away accuracy from the kicking team.
in a way NE may have a point we seem to be getting a few injuries to some of the old guard and saints have done okay with the kids they put in they get experience by playing but that is what the coach is paid to do by blooding youngsters for the future & winning with a successful team

Actually, yes I am
I don't post to regularly on here but i do read it every day. Nothing persoanl, but your posts infuriate me to the point where i feel i just have to post.
You always insist on bring in unproven kids, changing watkins to LC and now you want to move Hall to centre! its a joke.
I am with Gareth on this one. Hall is without a doubt one of the top 2 wingers in the comp and i would not change him for any other winger. Sometimes i think we take him for granted a little bit. he should remain exactly where he is out side uncle Keith.

Broughton's stats never appear or belong on the weekly Leeds stat thread unless:
1) Leeds are playing Salford
or
2) There had been some discussion concerning a Broughton performance.
I offered to include Broughton's stats the following week but you didn't reply (which I took as a 'meh' response) so have left them off ever since.
Would you like me to include them weekly? Anyone else, Gibson, Diskin ect ?
Others can be made available on request with prior notice.

I'm not too concerned to see them. I arrive at an opinion when I see him play us or when Salford are on the telly (if I can stay awake during such fare).
I'm sorry of I didn't reply to you. I get a lot of posts on here that require my attention and it's not always easy to keep up, especially during the weeks when the Buderus worship requires some tempering.

You have no evidence to back that up other than the second reference point in my reply.
I'd include them every week if your (3) was a qualifying criteria.

In which case I'll continue to leave them off (reference (1) above excepted) until you request otherwise. If I was looking to point score I'd be pro-active, which I'm not, so I remain reactive.

I appreciate you're a busy man and have many fans to appease. Apology accepted although a little more grovelling would be appreciated in future.

| Foster is a carthorse from what I've seen. Briscoe could be OK, but even putting Watkins on the list as a better winger than Hall is bizarre given he hasn't actually achieved anything for Leeds yet (4 tries against Wakey hardly counts).
Hall could look at the way he deals with kicks. I hope he is. One way I've seen wingers deal with the stationary issue is to purposely run a few yards out of position when a kick is made, allowing them to run/jump at the ball. Sometimes though it just isn't possible.
FWIW I think Hall's pretty solid, although if England had any star wingers he wouldn't get picked.
