Not the best debut but he didn't shirk from taking tha ball in and the first try he was faced with a 3 on 1 against him.
As Andy has said would suggest Friday is not really the game for him to be playing if you have any consideration for his future?
McDermot should still be applauded for giving him a chance - they will never improve if they never get the opportunity to experience the standards required.

I think the desire to aid his development by exposing him to first team rugby might have been slightly outweighed by the absence of Jones-Bishop, Smith, Watkins and Hardaker who would all have had the place ahead of him.  |

My point was he could have opted for your idea of Senior on the wing and Ablett in the centre?
I hear Smith is now potentially long term with the tear in his hamstring 3 times the length it was prior to the Hull KR game!!

It was a bit of a rabbit in the headlights debut. Kid kept coming but kept fluffing up. Sometimes you see kids on their debut and can instantly see they're first team material. This didn't look the case. Then again, some take a while to settle and surprise you. I'll admit JJB and Hall fell into the latter category for me. So, if I am searching for a positive it could be that he's a grow-er not a show-er.

Clarkson or Senior on the wing....ugghhh.
Maybe give Ellis another chance, but he def looked more Tom Bush than Zak Hardaker.
If Smith doesn't make it I would opt for Wilson or Chisholm to be given a run. |
