Whichever way you look at it 2 KR tries came from blatant forward passes and I am not talking flat passes here but at least 2 to 3 yards forward. The knock on outside the KR line that resulted in a drop out and the scrum that was or wasn`t a KR feed were all bad mistakes by the ref whichever way the KR loyalists to Halibut want to argue it.
KR played well much better than they have been playing considering their league position it woud seem.
But lets face it our defence was cut open far too often our attacking options did not exist and our missed tackles were appaling.
Senior had a very poor game all round yet putting Watkins to LC is hardly the best option considering his defence as shown when they scored their try.
Maybe the Wigan came did take alot out of us it certainly took something out of Wigan.
To sack the coach now is not an option IMO
He needs to be given the season to prove himself with a fully fit squad even though we should with all respect beat HKR with the fit players in our squad.
Before we start playing flowing attacking rugby we should get our defence right first.
Rant over and yes I have covered about 3 topics in one rant but who cares it`s Sunday and it`s sunny.

We didn't get the rub of the green yesterday, but we've had it a fair few times in the past. Neither of those 2 passes last night were anything like as forward as Watkins' to Hardaker against Saints. Plus they're probably still evening it up after Tansey-gate at Millenium Magic!

Just to agree with frosties re the leeds performances this year !! absolute pants, but no side can play a competative match losing the pebnalty count 12-3, as BMD said no problem with the penalties given, but this is a two way street and what did Leed shave to do to get a penalty, the kr player would need to shoot a player first, and even the most biased kr fans should acknowledge that the penalty count was way too one sided for it to be taklen seriously as a fair performance from the freog.

But I have watchd that game today on sky and although we had some decisions against us for forward passes, at least the try's two & three for kr (Murrell. welham) came from forward passes which were not even marginal and very clear, yes kr had the luck and mainly the rub on saturday, but lets get real with these decisions, this is not sour grapes but fact.

ATEOTD we can all have a bit of a moan about Terry missing this and that but it wasnt Terry who was lobbing suicide passes, missing tackles with our new brand of "exiting" panic rugby that was all down to us. We cant build pressure for jack sjit. We are lucky if we actually get an attacking kick away, even rarer that said kick actually hits terra firma. We dont force repeat sets and we wont bend our backs on defence.

These are all fixable problems that with a slice of humble pie and a dollop of hard work we can get back to doing what we know we are capable of, smashing teams with defence, forcing them into errors, and scoring off the back of them. You know?, what other teams are doing to us.

I think some of the decisions for both sides were baffeling at times.

As for the forward passes, one was very maginal I thought, the other was deffinately forward. However, I don't think they were 2-3 yards forward as someone has suggested! And lets face it, not trying to be bitchy or provoke an argument, but Leeds score their fair share off forward passes.

The penalty against Cross on Cockayne was a spot on decision. To me He looked like he had every intention of shoulder charging Cockayne before he caught the ball, probably a little frustration creeping in on Cross' part.

Overall, we got the rub of the green, it happens. The overall reffing displays have to be looked at imo, not just Mr Alibert. It's been far too inconsistant!

For my last point, I would just like to thank the fans that travelled, nice turn out compared to most! icon_biggrin.gif

Agree in general the ref standard across the board are poor and vey inconsistent. not just Hallibut.

Regarding forward passes with calm thought yes we do and have had out fair share of forward passes but that sort of logical thinking usually goes out of the window when you are watching your team play icon_wink.gif

The refs are not helped by some very poor linesmen.

True, but are the linesmen professional nowadays? not sure.

There will always be human error involved but there are far too many inconsistent decisions at the moment

No your spot on there and I think Cummins knows that and has told the Leeds match official to look out for them, and rightly so. We we're taking the pish a bit. But the annoying thing is when we get 1 or 2 chalked off and then the opposition get 1 or 2 tries that are not pulled up.

Yes the annoying thing is the aqbove. yes we have been guilty of forward passes, the hardacker try was a bit embarrasing. Its the inconsistent performance within the match
