No you've justified why it wasn't intentional - it hit the face and was therefore reckless.

That's just my opinion, which I am perfectly entitled to. I don't see why your just saying this to me, how can you lot tell it's reckless.
In reply to a previous post, I would assume the RFL's definition of reckless, is the same as this; "heedless of danger or consequences; careless". Now we can't tell what Carmont was thinking but I would assume he wasn't acting recklessly.

| If you are in any doubt about Lima's intentions and if you are in any doubt as to whether that is the way MaGuire coaches his teams just watch WIgan's warm ups. They were practising the thing on each other.

Yeah, Wigans tackling technique has been two up top and one round the legs ever since Maguire came. Watch an NRL game, its standard fair.

| To be fair lock and leg tackles are the way to slow the ptb and are coached in many teams, the issue is more about how it's approached as the ball carrier is more vulnerable.

Its Rugby league not football or tag rugby. Were you so upset when big brave (and fat) Bent Cross tried to punch super Sam ? no thought not.
What in the blue hell does that have to do with anything? no, thought not!!

Not just fine, it's highly commendable.

| Carmont's was a flat hand across the player's face.
Nothing will be done.
Lima was binned as he was judged to have tackled the standing leg of Clarkson. Which is foul and dangerous play in the new rule.
When you look at the replay Clarkson was not on a standing leg.
"Standing" of course means stationary.
Clarkson was running at the two Wigan tacklers with his legs pumping pushing them back. At the point of impact Clarkson's leg was off the ground as he was still running.
At no time in the incident was Clarkson stationary and on a standing leg.
Lima tackled a man running with the ball.
It was a very legitimate tackle.

| The bottom line is, the next team to play Wigan will benefit from any punishments - we had ten minutes less of Lima. Imagine if he had been sent off how we would have benefitted.
The Carmont incident should have been picked up by the chuckle brother....

| Quote: Omar Little "I know all fans are biased but wigan fans with this and the whole McGuire and Ablett storms last year really do take it to an extreme.
What is so hard to understand...Lima drove his shoulder into an already held players legs, he makes no attempt whatsoever to make a tackle with his arms (as shown in that freeze frame he's dropped his tackling arm to drive in with the shoulder) - there is only one outcome if his technique (I shan't call it a tackle) had come off and that is a very very serious knee or leg injury.
As someone said on the VT, Lima could really have done pretty much anything else and it would have resulted in a completed dominant tackle without a penalty
It doesn't matter if Clarkson's leg is standing or if the first contact is above the knee - the intent was to cause injury and there is no need for that in the game. It was an absolutely cowardly attack.
I'd also add that I do martial arts and it's a well known fact that driving downwards into somebody's leg (in that context with a kick but here with a shoulder) tends to pin the foot to the ground - the leg then has to buckle and most likely its serious damage - it was only lucky that clarksons leg lifted slightly before the impact (through sheer chance)'"
Thats the point he wasnt held he was still making yards up the pitch!!
So was the leg on the ground or in the air??

| Lima should be called up. It was a disgraceful tackle and the ref judged it bad enough to be sin binned.
Carmont isnt a dirty player and I think that one was accidental. It looked pretty bad but I think he will get away with that.
"Super" Sam tries to get involved in every little scuffle there is. Its just a shame Cross didnt break Tomkins fecking skull. It wont be long before he gets what he deserves the scummy little st
