Wire have been well capable of beating us for the last three seasons but even when they have taken significant leads, like in the playoff match last season, we have come back and won, regardless of how well we have been playing ourselves. In 2008, for instance, they were beating us until the last five minutes when we scored a try to draw the match only for Longy to kick one over on I think the last play. Why did they lose that match? Why have they lost so many against us in the last three years? Why can they beat everyone else but not us? It has to be a question of confidence. It certainly isn't to do with ability because on paper, certainly this season, they are at least as good as us if not better (given our pathetic wings, lack of one centre and mostly absent halfbacks!).
If they don't beat us tonight, when they won't even have Knowsley Road or Keiron Cunningham as excuses, I will be even more baffled by their losses than I am already, and I'm very baffled by their losses as it is.
