| Quote: Gotcha "He was right 1-17 did impress. 1-17 as a team that is, what they did as a team was very impressive, with the injuries they had to contain with also.
I think people are been a bit hard on Smith. He certainly was not a stand out individually like Buderus and Kylie were, but he did his job for the team having come on as a sub. You also have to remember he was outside a young kid who was far from displaying the talents he did the week previously. But this is the sort of games where Watkins learns and can develop further, and having Smith outside him will have helped him more through some of those tough periods than with BJB in that second half.
I could not understand where sky got MOM from, because personally I didn't think Burrow was great individually and bombed more opportunties for us than created. But as a link and a team player I thought just like everyone else in the team he had a great game.
Top 3 for me were
Buderus
Kylie
Kirke, yes Kirke. That lad has had a lot of stick, me included, but I thought he really stood up to be counted last night.'"
Agree 99% D ,but i think saying Burrow bombed more chances than he created is harsh because i thought the timing/runners and options were off as much as Burrow getting the sole blame.

| For the BJB try, did anyone else notice the flick back by Sinfield between the kick through and BJB taking the ball? It was a very risky play as he could have easily knocked the ball beyond BJB and into open field for a Hull player to run onto, but as it turned out it was pure genius. In terms of a "rugby brain" Sinfield is up there with any other player around at the moment, but sometimes I feel that his body can't match what his brain wants it to do.

I'd agree with all of this bar your comments about Burrow who I thought was excellent, again.
As for the Buderus hero worship he was indeed excellent and we may well see the best of him playing 80 mins a week, assuming he remains fit all season long. However, we're two games in to the season so let's not get too carried away.
It wasn't Diskin or Buderus's fault that the club wanted to go to a 2 hooker system. We had been hugely successful with Diskin (who looked pretty handy last week) and I hope we are as successful with Buderus. He only has 4 championships to get there...

And disco moved on to seek rep honours he only has 24 caps to go to get near bedsy, not to mention 21 origin caps? Let's see where disco is at when he has another 55 first grade and rep games under is belt like DB.

| Be careful judging players on Championship medals, doesn't Ian Kirke have more Championship medals than Lewis Jones for example?

Obviously watching it on the TV it was easy to see but it was pure genius and watching the replays it looked like Sinfield was always fully in control of what he was doing and so eliminating that risk. Quality play and I jope it continues.

I don't care about Australia, NSW or Necastle. I care about Leeds RLFC, England or GB RL.
I hope Diskin achieves his goals. I admire him for what he did for my club. That admiration is not diminished because I get misty eyed over the achievements of an Aussie for some other club in some other country. I have greater moral fibre than that.

Who has done that?
I simply said I hope we're as succesful with Buderus as we were with Diskin. Don't you share that hope? Or is it all about getting misty-eyed and wet pantied whilst watching Buderus for you as well, rather than what the team is doing?

| I am not getting misty eyed nor wet pantied about Buderus, but your previous statement "only 4 championships to get there" clearly refers to you rating Diskin above Buderus because of his achievements in a Leeds shirt.
Are Ian Kirke's 3 GF winners rings a greater achievement than Lewis Jones single win in 1960-61? Does that mean that you admire Kirke more than Jones?

How many rings has Ian Kirke got? being in a successful side doesn't always make you a top player.
Diskin has a long way to go before he ever achieves anything close to what Buderus has in his career.

Disco will always be a Leeds legend. I respect him for moving on too. I just like to view the game as a whole when viewing players abilities. I've always been a massive nrl fan since you could get the vids in barkers. maybe I have more of an interest as that "some other country" is now my home? But then again as I said Ive always looked at the game as a whole.
the moral fibre line is a belter though mate .

Can you read?
Let me help. Here's what I said.
Quote: batleyrhino "I hope we are as successful with Buderus. He only has 4 championships to get there'"
That isn't about rating players etc. It's simply stating a fact. I want Leeds to be as successful with Buderus as we were with Diskin. Therefore, Buderus will need to win 4 championships, nes pas?
I know how Leeds fans are passionately in love with Aussie legend Buderus but you don't have to spring to your hero's defence when I haven't even attacked him.

| 1. Buderus - dominated the ruck area, strong defence and got the whole pack going forward plus his own runs from the PTB and classy pass for the Hauraki try
2. Burrow - always an attacking threat to Hull who didn't know if he was going to run at them, pass or kick.
3. = Burgess, Kylie, Delaney, BJB & Sinfield
Closely follwed by the rest in a very good team performance considering the injuries.
