| Tansey has never been up to much as a player or person, that's the reason Leeds let him go. A certain poster on here was over the moon when he left as it meant that his Mum didn't sit behind certain poster screaming at her son all game anymore...
Waster, Hull should let him go and focus on players who will respect the club and behave accordingly.

| Agar doesn't seem to command too much respect. Tansey's not the first to go down this route IIRC

Yes there was the Cardiff moment but the lad never seemed to use his chances at Leeds very often, as for slotting into other sides- not now I dont think, hes a very big risk'"
90 points in 53 first team appearances for the Rhinos says otherwise. All the way back In 2005 Tansey made 20 appearances for Leeds Rhinos U21 and scored 26 tries and 10 goals in that season. He was named the Senior Academy Player’s Player of the Year that year.
He has all the natural talent to step up and be a top class player. But it seems that things have taken a turn for the worse off the field which has affected his performance off the field.

| Damo, Jordan Tansey does not have the natural talent to step up and be a top class player. He failed to make any position his own at Leeds, doesn't have enough speed to play in the backs, not enough stamina to play in the forwards and not enough skill to play in the halves.
Even if Hull don't get rid of him, which I think they will, he will never be more than a "filler" player for any SL club.

Jack of all trades, master of none comes to mind when thinking about Jordan Tansey on the rugby pitch. His versatility is his talent. It’s because he can play in many positions, he never gets the chance to slot himself into permanent position.
As I said previous on this thread, he’s not world class, but he’s certainly talented. I do acknowledge all that you’ve said about him not been good enough to make it fully in certain positions otherwise it’d be ignorant of me. However it’d be very ignorant not to recognise his versatility as an equal talent to those who do just one job in the halfbacks for example.
The stats don’t lie.

Tansey's undoing at Leeds was the players in front of him, not his lack of talent. He never got a settled run in the team in one position so he decided to chance his arm in Australia. Can't blame him for that.
Like you say, he was a great utility player but it seems as though there's no pride (or money, presumably) left in being a utility/bench player.

You only have to look at Peter Fox (current England International) to be reminded of how hard it is to break into this current Rhinos first team. Ashley Gibson (although some will argue injuries) is another example of someone who has all the talent but couldn’t break into the Leeds first team. Both have gone on to do fine jobs at their respective clubs.
I agree with your final sentence as well.

| self discipline from tansey was never his strong suit but teams can only do so much to try to keep people on the straight and narrow.
if he cannot do it for himself it will be a sad waste of talent

| he's an average player with a massive appetite for self destruction and has an attitude typical of a lot today. they think the world owes them a living. he'll end up bumming around east leeds playing for a pub team

Oh come off it. The way you drag Jordan Tansey down is akin to somebody saying that the star player of a pub team should be playing for the Rhinos. An average player doesn’t end up playing in super league (top clubs as well) and then getting his chance in the NRL.
I’m sorry but I think that some Rhinos fans on here have been too spoilt for choice when it comes to rating talent. The Danny McGuire’s, Jamie Peacocks and Benji Marshalls of rugby league might be the cream of talent. But there’s still talent beneath them and its anything but average.

| Damo ask yourself this IF Tansey is so good why were we so glad to get rid?
He had potential granted but he's pi$$ed it away and having experienced his "attitude" 1st hand f#*k him he's had enough chances and isn't good enough for a top 6 team and Hull would be better off rid.

| To reach the top and to then stay at the top in SL, a player needs to show far more than just talent on the field IMO
The best players clearly know how to conduct their lives away from the game, their application to their professsion is exemplary
Sadly Tansey and as his numerous disciplinary discretions clearly prove, that he doesn't know how to apply/prepare himself whilst he is away from his club duties.
I always perceived him to be an ideal "squad type player" whilst he was at the Rhinos as he could fill numerous positions and all to equal effect in that he would never let you down
I had heard about his off-field antics whilst he was at the Rhinos, but when he was signed by the Sydney Roosters i thought that this could be his wake up call, and one that he clearly needed.
Moving to Australia should have also have taken him away from his comfort zone, and his boozy mates back in Leeds!
It's sad that Tansey clearly hasn't got the application to be a successful SL player, although he does possess the talent required IMO.
"IF" he gets the boot from Hull FC then he is clearly in the "Last chance saloon" I would theirfor imagine that Tansey could possibly end up at Featherstone Rovers, and in the not too distant future

Now correct me if I’m wrong.
Jordan Tansey joined Sydney Roosters on a two year deal and he was supposed to re-join us this year. However he was released from Sydney early and went on to join Hull FC. It’s obvious that these three clubs rate him for his rugby ability otherwise they wouldn’t have gone for him.
I don’t know the full story with what’s happened off the field as I only have what’s been said on here and in the media. Tansey had potential, but he also had talent to make regular appearances in top flight rugby league which along with his stats makes him talented in my eyes. Yeah he’s not world class, but he’s not average either.
I hope that he sorts his off field problems out soon otherwise no one will want him. You only have to look at the way Danny Ward and Jamie Thackray careers went when they wouldn’t listen. At 24, there’s still time in him yet and I’m sure that if he does sort himself out, he’s more than capable to hold his various positions at a top club for years to come. The facts back that up whilst some theories on here are Imaginary.

| He was signed by the Roosters as "squad back up" and was never 1st choice in any position HERE OR THERE so don't over-rate him because he was lucky to get a 6mth holiday with an NRL club on it's knees at the time see Sibbitt ,Thorman and more recently Mason.
Like i said he HAD potential and has blown it imo.
