Sinfield's been there before and coped admirably. In my view, a longer break would do him no harm whatsoever. As for a McNamara inspired England, it might be better him picking the majority of players from the club sides who've achieved the most.

Everyone will remember Sinfield describe how he felt after receiving the news of his non-selection in 2004 (even after captaining his club to their first League Leaders Shield since 1971/72 and I think the first in the club's history in Divisional football, their first Championship in 32 years and the birth of his first child) he was devastated when Noble pulled the rug from under his world.'"
I was under the impression that Sinfield came out after last years tests and said he was considering his future in test matches and whether he would tour at the end of this year.
We have heard nothing since, but the lad has kids to think of. It may be that he's made the decision for McNamara.

| Are you suggesting Kevin Sinfield has announced his International retirement but forgot to tell anyone?
Dr Strangelove was a great movie.

No. I'm saying that he announced last year that he would have to consider his International future for future tours.
I was asking, could he have made that decision.

| I'm not sure that we need to make so many changes to the squad for next year. We need to think about the players who will need replacing the following year (Leuluai, Senior, Buderus, Lauitiiti, Webb(?)) and how we will introduce their replacements (Ambler, Watkins, McShane, Clarkson, Jones Bishop) without too much disruption but giving each enough game time.
We have enough young quality in the wings (not on the wings) to fill the gaps, and the last time we brought through a group of youngsters we had some great success on the back of it.
One area we do need to improve is our playing style as (IMO) it's no longer suitable for the players we have in our squad. We need much more structure on attack, and to play the same structure throughout the club.

| Great another overseas back is just what we need. Has Mr Schofield also told you there are fairies at the bottom of the garden?

| It's a long time from now until the start of next season...IIRC the last few seasons we have done this kind of thread and at the risk of being rude to some perfectly good posters I can't remember anyone getting anything right... ever!!
Will this pre-season be any different?!

Brent Tate has been a great player.
Hetherington's explanation of how he replaces Greg Eastwood in the squad would be worth hearing (hopefully he's in Birmingham this week picking up some tips), not that I'm attaching any credence to the claim.

Possibly he's been reading stuff posted here about moving Delaney to the second row.
