| The appeal panel is always made up of three completely different people to the original disciplinary panel. They have a published rota and therefore the panels are decided in advance. Buderus could well find that an ex Leeds player with the surname Butt could be on todays appeals panel... it works both ways sometimes!

He may well do. But(t) would that be ONE ex Leeds player or two. That is a big difference.

John Atkinson is on the rotation as well. (Not sure who the panel is today).
One surprising member of the disciplinary committee is.....
Dean Sampson!
I can only assume that after all his appearances before it he just never left the building.

| RFL probably spent the last 24 hours realising how t they look when the disciplinary panel has 2 ex Pies on the panel, with an apparent interest in banning Buderus.
The right decision in lifting the ban, and I'm sure the £300 fine will be nothing to £1,000,000 per game Buderus!!

It appears Joel Tomkins is currently allowed one senseless deliberate kick at the man in possession at the play the ball per week and as he didn't exceed his quota he was fine.

| There was a not so subtle suggestion on Boots n' all last night that McGuire had "provoked" him. In super slo-mo from a particular angle it looked like McGuire's elbow had brushed against his face. Unusual that isn't it, some facial contact in a rugby league tackle between tackled player and tackler as the tackled player tries to get his ball carrying arm free. I honestly wonder if they just can't think of enough to talk about sometimes.
The most obvious similarity between Tomkins kick on McGuire and the one at the Bradford player was the dumbass expression Tomkins pulls when he's pinged. I think that big baby face, with a small amount of spittle dribbling out of his gob and a feeble pointing gesture to some alledged offence against him, is an automatic yellow and 1 match ban on it's own.

They have probably realised how pathetic they are sounding by comparing Sam Tomkins with Osama Bin Laden for his relentless & blatant 'trapping of a poor helpless defenders arm between the ball and his body' , so decided to change the subject...........

There was no need to be subtle. McGuire accidentally elbowed Tomkins in the mush during the wrestle. Tomkins responded with a choker tackle on the ground (a missed opportunity for Alibert to penalise and nip it in the bud.) McGuire lashed out in Tomkins direction and Tomkins then aimed a kick at McGuire as he regained his feet.
The repeat nature of the offence perhaps should have alerted the RFL but would they even realise much less care.

A defence offfered up - unsurprisingly - by Brian Carney. Remind me who he used to play for again?

| Most recently Warrington.
Prior to that Munster RU, Gateshead, Hull FC, Newcastle and I suppose Wigan but his comments appeared based on the incident rather than a pre-conceived bias.
If posters were able to remove their blue and amber goggles I'm sure they could see this for themselves.

| it seems to be one rule for one team and another rule for a different team sometimes!! there sometimes seems to be little consistency with the decisions that are made!!
