Well, it is the members of the Rugby League Writers Association that vote, so to all intents and purposes it is the Press yes. That is also why it has been won jointly on two occasions, if they have an even number of members present at the game to vote and they have a split decision, they awarded it to two people and they both get a replica trophy. I think the real one stays in Salford's trophy cabinet, other than for the presentation.
