He had a big game in the cup semi. He had some awful games against us, an anonymous game in the final and what did he do in the playoffs? When it really mattered he did nowt.

I'd imagine in the view of the judges he improved the playing ability and standards of the squad at his disposal more than any other SL coach did with their charges.

As such I imagine Michael Maguire will be the leading candidate so far this season.
