We came in with six first choice players missing, lost our two main playmakers and a forward during the match, but could only put four on us? You should have hung, drawn and quartered us. We were easy meat once Pryce had gone off.'"
Not at all worried, looking at the bigger picture you should be more worried cos for 70% of this season we have played with half our first team out and are still fourth also with that in mind we have also beat the teams above us one of them twice...so what can we do when we have a fully fit side,I can't wait 2 find out....

| One of the poorest games I've seen between these two teams for some time. Saints were a shadow of the team that we played last year and it says soemthing about Leeds if we almost lost to them conceding 24 points at home. When your best back is Lego Head you have squad problems.
There were some tired bodies out there and obviously a few carrying injuries. It also seems that Peacock gets mentioned as "immnese" almost by reflex, I thought he was shocking for most of the match. Slow PTB's, low energy levels, mistakes. He looks knackered - needs a rest after a game like last week obviously. Standouts in the pack were JJB, who was buzzing for most of the match (great to see), Buderus and Bailey. Clarkson had a great second spell, Ambler and Kirke worked hard while they were on. Eastwood didn't look fit, but Ablett was very average. I don't know what's happened to Ablett's form, he made a big impact when he came back from injury, but I've barely noticed him the last few weeks.
As for the backs, Lee Smith had a shocker and Senior is a worry. He's making poor defensive choices and costing us points. It's very unlike him. Webb and Burrow are needed back. As good as our halves were, Burrow would make a real difference and Webb is our "extra" half back. We really need Ali back on that left hand side as well.
Great to beat Saints on any day, under any conditions, so no complaints in that department. And special thanks to Phil Clarke for another terrific TV moment, on 8 minutes after one poor pass from Lee Smith, he confidently predicted Saints were going to go on and winn because they were passing the ball better than Leeds. Come on Phil, 8 f******g minutes? That's poor even by your low standards.

| Ablett was average??? I thought he looked dangerous everytime he had ball in hand. The saints players didn't know what to do. He was hard to put down and was always looking for the offload.

Ditto for us, hon, and we've managed to stay joint second/third for most of the season. That might change now we've lost both Pryce and Eastmond but who knows. It could be the making of another of our young players, Lee Gaskell.
We have played 29 different players this season, all through necessity. We have 33 in our squad.

| Ambler looked good last night – comfortable with the ball, confident in defence and put in some hard work. He didn’t look out of place at all.
Kirke had the best game I’ve seen him play for a while, Senior look out of sorts and JP wasn’t at his best. McShane continues to impress me and Bailey was our stand out forward.
Not the best I’ve seen Saints play but with Cunningham and Wilkin out and Eastmond obviously carrying a knock it’s that surprising.
Pryce seems to either play well or not play at all. Last night I thought he was on form and on several occasions picked our defence apart. Not that I ever enjoy seeing a player leave the field through injury but there was a little relief when he was taken off.
Anyhoo a win is a win and taking two points off Saints is always sweet.

1. But Saints didn't score at will
2. And Saints still couldn`t win

We didn't win because we lost both our halfbacks and one forward during the match. Had Leon stayed on the pitch, we would have won, no doubt about it. We weren't brilliant last night but you were poorer than us. What's happened to your defence? I know ours has gone west since Potter turned up but you still have the same coach yet look decidedly leaky by comparison to previous seasons.

Maybe it could have something to do with having 7 first teamers out so our defensive lines are disrupted?

| Funny how the Scousers always come out with the 'ifs, buts and maybes' when they lose to the 3 best team in SL of the last 3 years.
Very tedious. When will they just accept they're not as good as they think they are? Bit like Fatboy Cunningham really.

| Thought we did just about enough although there needs to be plenty of improvement before the semi final.........which I am sure there will be.
Once again tho thought we were out own worst enemy at times........looked to be in control until Peacock stupidly reefed the ball out 30 metres from the Saints line giving them a relieving penalty which was the catalyst for us giving away two sloppy tries.
Smarten up and reduce the errors and I believe we can certainly bring some silverware home again this season.

Spot on. The fact that he scored breaking from the halfway line says it all about the standard of the game. It was more akin to watching a Wakey vs Cas game or something than a game between two top sides.
Full of mistakes with little of the intensity and desperate defence that we usually see.
If this was an indication of where Saints and Leeds are now then Wigan and Warrington (and maybe some others) have a real chance.
However I thought Leeds deserved the win. Even if Alibert sees McGuires obvious knock on and get's the decision right you would have still scored again before the end.

I agree our defense is poor at the moment but we do have 7 first teamers out 5 of whom would certainly have been in the side.
Your best player was Robey who was outstanding. Pryce had a couple of runs but he is rarely a threat to Leeds. While for Leeds you could equally say had Eastwood not been injured we would have scored more!
As neither side were at their best there is no certainty that the result would have been different had Pryce not been injured as he is such an eratic player. Leeds did just enough to win and may have done the same had Eastwood, Eastmond and Pryce remained on.

On the upside we scored some good tries ourselves and i thought Buderus,Peacock and Bailey were immense for us a great 2 points but plenty to work on.'"
all that disappointed me was at 16-6 we were coasting. Peacock then reefed the ball in the tackle and the tide turned. Our discipline then went to pot for 20 minutes.
