Hypocrisy?

Like someone has already said, I remember the thread about the Saints players leaving the pitch early but that's about it.

I left as they scored their last try and didn't hang about.

I usually do wait to see the victors lift the cup. I did it at Millenium stadium in 2003 when many, many Bulls fans left without waiting to see their own team lift the cup btw (not cheap points scoring but an honest observation).

However, last night, my bladder had been bursting since about the 5th minute of the second half and if I had waited to see Melbourne lift the trophy I'd have probably p[iiss[/ied myself there and then. Nobody wants that do they? Not even petty, points scoring fans of inferior teams seeking some sort of satisfaction in our defeat.

Thought you might have hung around for a few autographs

Not denying your observation, but virtually none in my bit of the stadium did. I remember what a pain it was to even get out to the aisle once they had paraded the pot round the park. That said, as with all clubs there were considerably more "Fans" there than we ever normally see at Odsal...

And, as I said earlier, unlike you I've never stayed to see the other lot lift the pot when we have lost, and so anyone having a pop at Leeds fans for leaving has no sympathy from me whatsoever. I think the issue was more that some Leeds "fans" had previously had a pop at Stains fans for doing likewise in the past - I remember that being said on here - so for those fans (and only those) there has to be a charge of hypocrisy? For the rest...you did right IMO.

Mate, I can never forgive MYSELF! Indeed, I had to be forcibly restrained from "doing the honourable thing" when those despicable and unforgivable words passed my lips. Even to this day, I have considerable difficulty living with the shame.

And yes, good to see the Loo Cleaner is still with us. He and I hail back to those golden days, before the plague of fekkwittery infested many an erstwhile-pure forum [size(and when Bulls actually won things...)[/size, when you had to endure a long stint at the academy before being admitted as a Professional Trolling and Wind-Up Officer. He of course graduated first in his class. We had standards in those days, and any apprentice discovered by the intended target to be up to no good was dragged back to the academy and flogged within an inch of their life (repeat offenders were of course posted to Halifax).

Youngsters nowdays, they don't know just how lucky they are...
