I remember him ... he used to hang around the side of the Corn Exchange on Saturdays.
He'd fix you with his gaze from 10 yards away, a light would come on in his eyes as though he recognised you and he'd walk straight up to you and ask "'Ow do, I wonder if you could help us out with the price of a cup of tea?".

I lived in the Calls back then and used to see him a lot ... he could certainly work a crowd that fella.

There's many regulars with many types of fringes, I've seen afew that are extremly long. But the rest of their hair is long so I may not have seen the dude you iz talkin bout.

I used to see this bloke pushing a wheelie bin down Kirkstall Road a few times, not seem him for ages though.

Was talking about this at work today , and was reminded of one called David that hung around Pudsey . As a kid it was great fun to ask him the time . He would throw his arm about like he was trying to shake a tiger off it , then look at his wrist . Never wore a watch though .

That would be John...I was just saying to the daughter last week ...havent seen him in ages.

Did he look a bit like Mr Granger from 'Are You Being Served' ?

The bearded one is right too - he'd stare straight at you so it was a real effort not to make eye contact.

There also used to be a bloke that used to be in the centre of Leeds in the late 80s, who looked a bit like Pte.Walker in Dad's Army (see above), with a thick scottish accent .... Clearly the bloke had issues, he used to be alwasy going about everything being burned.

East Leeds has the legend that is "Bod" he has his own facebook fan page and everything.

Anyone remember the YEP seller that hung about on Commercial Street telling everyone that he was having a terrible day?

He reminds of a fat old bloke who used to hang around town street in Horsforth who we nicknamed "busby" because that's what he did all the fooking time bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Terry Fkwitt , one of the LS28 legends used to role-play in the local pubs occasionally . We would buy his beers to keep him entertaining us . I remember him once telling us about his time as a bin-man . He sat on a stool and pretended to drive the bin wagon . He kept getting up and running to other stools , bringing them back , abnd 'emptying' them in the back of the wagon .

Another time he was telling us about his life as a sky-diver .
Comedy gold seeing him stand on a table and dive face-first onto the floor .

Damo . You might know of him . He is now around 50 yrs old . 5'10" ish , dark hair , and lots of boils on his face and neck .
