England just did what they needed to do and if this lot would of played their best it would have been a much more worrying score. Tomkins has certainly laid some fantastic foundations for his international career and we should have Tom Briscoe and Ryan Hall (shame that Ryan Hale isn’t going to be selected just yet having only played one game in Rhinos colours) on the wings as I though that Peter Fox was very poor.

However I also acknowledge that the coach knows more about rugby league than me so I won’t be too outraged if Fox gets on the wing. I won’t be outraged on whoever gets picked for England anyways.

Agreed Peter Fox just played himself out of a starting wing spot for me in favour of Briscoe and Hall.

I recorded the game and just watched it today. If I'd had to watch it without the fast forward option I don't think I would have made it past 30 minutes.

I guess it was a "loosener", and Wales really fronted up physically, which was a great credit to them.

I wonder how much use these games are as they have no structure. I was surprised by the number of times neither half back was first receiver on 5th tackle plays - especially in attacking positions. Higham didn't help by not really seeming to know where they were.

I thought Morley was a concern especially if he's a cert to start. He looked less sharp than I've seen him before. But I guess when the competition starts for real this should sharpen everyone up.

Morley was g*sh and that really is a concern. I'm also failing to see what Carvell offers us at International level apart from the concession of 2 or 3 penalties as he is SO slow to get off the tackled player. Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook on the otherhand was excellent and I'd love to see him let loose against the French at least. Nice to see a couple of the Welsh lads run straight at Gareth Ellis, always good for a laugh!

On the otherside I thought Ben Flower went really well, having been not so impressed with him on the few occasions I saw him this season. The fullback also looks to have potential, very hard to put down, reminded me of a young Lee Smith.
