Strong rumours that he's going there and I for one think he's the man to bring much needed silverware to Warrington.

I'm not sure Smith would want to go with the sort of players they have at the moment. Some of the defence on the Catalans tries was truly appalling.

Smith came to Leeds and 'tweaked' the squad he had and got the best out of them. At Warrington I get the impression he'd have to clear out the rubbish and re-build almost from scratch. That's a hell of an ask.

I agree i think he'd improve them and make sure they were in the mix but actually winning the comp i doubt because whilst he'd need at least 18mths to 2 yrs to get the squad he wanted the likes of us and saints are gonna be standing still either.

I think the problem could be Briers. He is Mr Warrington, but you could question whether to move the club forward they need wholesale change, and I don't think he is good enough in a key position to win SL.

They have a good squad with a mix of quality internationals, high end SL players, and some youngsters with ability/potential.

You could say that Lowes is their Powell. Young coach first job in the game. Lay some foundations then pass it on to the next man to finish the job

Cue Lowes and Briers to find themselves at Featherstone in the very near future, when the current coaching setup balls it up.

Maybe so. It's just so obvious from the outside that Warrington have all the potential going, but are seriously lacking something to transform them from contenders to winners. We've had debates about that on here in the past and most people reckon it needs a clear out of personnel, both coaching and playing before anything will improve.
