i dont believe that will be the case.
i seem to remember reading bluey making it clear that smith will get game time at centre when webb returns, then its upto smith what he does with that chance.

This article makes me think Smith will revert to centre once Webb returns regardless of Gibson or Watkin' form. Read into it what you will. |

i seem to remember reading bluey making it clear that smith will get game time at centre when webb returns, then its upto smith what he does with that chance.

As far as I'm concerned from what I've seen Smith is a winger/full back.
I'll be delighted though if he makes a successful transition into the centres.
Strength in depth and versatlity/cover is the aim of every coach. Let's hope that's what we've got, injuries permitting.

I remember the article, but what happens if one or both of Gibson & Watkins excel at centre over the next couple of weeks, and webb comes back, with smith also impressing?

Drop Gibson/Watkins?
Drop Webb?
It is unlikely that Smith, Gibson/Watkins and Hall will all play so well they can't be dropped, but one of them will have to.

I believe Smith is ahead of Watkins of Gibson when it comes to the centre spot alongside Senior so when Webb returns, I expect Smith to revert to centre and play alongside Donald, with Senior and Hall on the opposite wing with Webb at full back.
Presuming all the above are fit and healthy.
It may not happen, but going on what has been said publicly by the coach, that's what should happen. |

Id drop Hall out of all of them as I still think he lacks the speed needed for a top Winger.
But thats only if Watkins can improve in defence. He is the best we have in attack (IMO) but that counts for nothing if you cant defend. |
