| Agreed - Wayne is taking defeat in a far more dignified manner these days - a credit to him. I also think his idea to switch Gelling to wing on Hulls last plays to compete for the kick is in sharp contrast to big Macs response in the semi.

| "A high quality game" says John Kear. Not sure what he was watching to be honest?
Wane isn't very likeable at all, but you've got to praise him for his faith in the Wigan youth system.

| Quote: marathonman "Really pleased for Gaz Ellis, great player and smashing bloke too. Anyone notice that scroate Mcilorum sly punch on him in the very first tackle of the game ?
'"
Third tackle actually but that's not important. A lot happened in that tackle culminating in the dig from McIlorum. In reverse order McIlorum swung at Ellis, Ellis threw a left at McIlorum, McIlorum pulled Ellis into a sly headbutt.
Great stuff.

To make matters even worse, he talks pure nonsense.

| I was at the match, so couldn't hear the commentary, but what was the reason given for Wigan's disallowed try? It looked all ends up like a live ball following an illegal ball strip to me.

The referee and video ref both called this correct
The video ref said there was no clear pulling action by the Hull defender Tuimavave.
If you watch the replay its not a ball strip

| Fair enough. I'd had a few pre-match, so my judgement won't have been too reliable.

Yeah I thought it was the right call. You see these every week (think Watkins was on the receiving end against Saints a few week back and Cas at ours did it several times) and it is harsh on the ball carrier but it's not a strip. Wigan fans aren't too happy on their board though saying it cost them the win but ignoring Marshall having his foot in touch when picking up a kick in his in goal and even bringing up McGuire's knock on for Moon's try in the 2015 GF as evidence of refs always giving bad calls against Wigan.....some of them genuinely think they never get the run of the green from the officials.

| Speaking of the video ref, that was a terrific bit of trolling on the 'try' Hull had chalked off for obstruction. When he rolled the replay right through to the grounding, the Hull fans (and pretty much everyone else) assumed he'd given it.

| yet they choose to ignore there first try shouldn't have stood in that grand final. burrow kicked through, came off the full bowens leg and Farrell picked up despite being offside. they scored a couple of plays later. impossible for the officials to see, only picked up on the replay. still shouldn't have counted.
as shouldn't the 2 points when MM cheated by deliberately throwing the ball ay watkins

and the eight pointer when Farrell slid in on Mags with his knees in the act of scoring

| At Wembley I thought the ball came free due to Tony Clubb trying to spin over not because of a strip. That made it a loose carry for mine and a good initial call from Bentham who was in an excellent position to rule.

IMHO that won us the game. We were struggling to get back onside and that gave us the breather we needed. If MM had just switched that left we were screwed.
