| It was a shambles they tell us we have the western terrace and the NW corner then dont let fans stand there (NW) until they've literally wedged as many as poss onto the WT.
They were sending everyone to just 2 turnstyles then sending them back to the NW turnstyles.
Forcing older fans with walking sticks etc etc down into the trench behind the WT wall where they had no chance of seeing before they'd let them stand on the barriers in the NW corner.
No organisation and stewards thick as f###.

| "Could the Leeds fans in the Western terrace please move down to the end of the stand so your fellow supporters can get in?"
Perhaps the most hilarious stadium announcement I've heard this year...

We'll all be fine when (if) they build their new super duper stadium. By the way thanks for beating them, it keeps us in the top eight (for now).

| given the stewards were allowing people to go where they wanted it seemed rather daft. I stood with a load of wakie fans without any issue & there seemed to be groups of leeds fans in most of the ground.

| We arrived at the NE corner and saw Leeds fans going in the north and east stands. Tried to get in the North and were told we needed to go to the NW or West. Got to the North west and saw Leeds fans going in, but then when we tried we were told to go to the West. Got to the West and joined a queue with more than a few Wakey fans. The whole thing was a farce. It was segregation in name only. Over 10k though, so a good effort by all!

| We ended up standing about 3 yards from the 'segregated' Wakefield fans on the North Terrace with some red tape to form a barrier, which, by the end of the game, had been torn down. It was a farce. They were completely unprepared for the amount of away support there last night and hadn't a clue what they were doing.
I don't care what anyone says but segregating the supports only breeds hostility.
Way to go Wakefield! The sooner the league gets reduced to 12 clubs the better.

I think that's a bit unfair, first game of "proper" segregation attempt just happens to be our second highest SL attendance. Not really an ideal game to learn, especially in a ground as difficult to segregate as BV.
As I've said on other threads, it's sad it's come to it but with Newmarket looming ever larger on the horizon, i'm prepared to put up with it.
Don't see why you're so bitter about it all though, did you have any bother with the Wakey fans?

I've bought my earmuffs, just waiting for that bubble to go pop if the economy continues to tank.
Thankfully for Wakefield, your empty promises have saved you long enough to get P&R back. You can go back to letting the ground fall over and focus on finishing third from bottom now.

I deliberately haven't been to BV since Wakefield scraped into a franchise last time but I'm led to believe that, as it is now a veritable Xanadu, it takes the pressure off Newmarket.
Compare and contrast Belle Vue with, for example, The Shay and Halifax's "no overdraft" constitution.
I know which I prefer to pay to enter.

We've been in the North Terrace for as long as I can remember, and, for as long as I can remember, so have many Wakefield fans and I have never encountered any trouble - until last night! Some p*ssed up Wakefield tos[sizes[/sizeer in a green T-shirt was being all Charlie Big Potatoes and was trying to kick-off with some Leeds fans.
Admittedly the stewards did their job well and ejected him but my point is - no segregation, no trouble - segregation, trouble.
Coincidence? I think not.

| I'm of the opinion that patronising rhinos fans ought to be focusing on the empty promises of their own club with regard to the not-so-new north and south stands instead.
On the subject of segregation, it's been creeping in gradually for a while and not just at Wakefield. It's one of the reasons I hardly attend these days.

Eh? Why because you don't like your own fellow supporters?
Sounds likes an excuse for being an armchair fan

| Once you start herding people around like animals, they will behave like them.
Nobody wants segregation and Wakefield, along with Cas and to a lesser extent Leeds were the only grounds where supporters were free to move around.
The stewards seemed to be trying hard to enforce some segregation but, there were still Leeds and Wakefield fans mixed around the ground.
It's a sad day for the sport when RL fans cant stand together and enjoy the game.

| I am sorry the segregation was a joke, I have been to Belle View for about 30 years and have always stood on the North Terrace and there has never been any trouble. So why the attempt to split the fans. The week before I was on Western Terrace having a laugh and joke with Trinity fans no trouble. The stewards had no idea what they were doing. Also the state of Belle View has potential for being a death trap when you get a big crowd, by only letting Leeds fans use four turnstiles they were causing a massive backlog outside and anything could have happened.
The ground itself is a disgrace, from the Western side unless you were at the front you could not see all the pitch, the whole ground felt like it was in the 1960's and I was expecting them to be filming "this sporting life", bu the way I would have had the ground around 13000.
