Whilst I can understand the sentiments for the RFL wanting to buy their 'own' stadium, do they also have the money in place to undertake the necessary redevelopment work (for such trivial items, like a roof for example) around most of the bowl ?

The next question is, a la Aussie Rules, will the ruling body start moving games away from club grounds, to play them in the (toilet) bowl that is RFL Park (aka Odslum) ?

That's nothing, the Irish government took over a bank here. So far it's cost the taxpayer about €120 billion.

Which is mildly ironic as I remember when the banking crisis started the Irish government were quick off the mark to totally guarantee any deposits in full in an attempt to tempt foreign investors.
