| Bearing in mind I know very little of the players from more than 40 years ago, a Leeds born 13 could look like:
1. Mick Shoebottom
2. Alan Smith
3. Syd Hynes
4. Garry Schofield
5. John Atkinson
6. John Holmes
7. Jeff Stevenson
8. Jamie Peacock
9. David Ward
10. Steve Pitchford
11. Bill Ramsey
12. Paul Medley
13. Ellery Hanley
Replacements from: Jason Robinson, James Lowes, Gareth Carvell, Kevin Dick, Danny McGuire, JJB, Ryan Bailey, Barry Seabourne, Chev walker, Dave Creasser, Dave Heron, Neil Hague, Roy Dickinson, Graham Eccles.
Whats maybe interesting is that players from the 60s and 70s are seen as legends by Leeds fans and those of other clubs but current players (who might already have achieved more domestically and won more international caps) aren't seen as worthy enough yet. Maybe that's because there's many more years to come from them or maybe its that opposition fans find it easier to give credit to players from another era than the current crop.

| If i could be d i could find 3 teams of leeds born internationals who all played for leeds, the 30's & 50's were golden era's, half backs alone: Holmes, stevenson, shoebottom, millward, seabourne, schofield, hanley, dick, Mcguire. Few caps there, the first two (arguably the best ever in their poistions) born within 2 miles of the ground.

| Some names from the 1930s - E Harris, F Harris, Parker, Brogden, Ralph, Williams, Hall, Satterthwaite, Dyer, Jubb, Casewell, Isaac
Some names from the 1950s - P Quinn, D Hodgkinson, K McLellan (c), L Jones, G Broughton, J Lendill, J Stevenson, J Anderson, B Prior, W Hopper, B Poole, D Robinson, H Street
Which ones were Leeds born I wouldn’t know!
Lets be honest the only person to (that am aware of) has probably watched these teams is McLaren_Field Maybe he could shed a bit of light on all this.

| I know Eric Harris was an Ocker, and Lewis Jones Welsh. Jeff Stevenson was from Leeds and Stanley Brogden was possibly from Bradford originally. Beyond that not a clue.
You're right though, McField will have been to school with many of the first set of players.

I'm dynamite at 6 or 7. Me and Juice. We're the Bash Brothers from Mighty Ducks. The flair players.
Classy.

Stan Satterthwaite I think was from the lake district, Eric harris was from Oz with Keith McLellan and maybe Pat Quinn, Not sure about Stan Brogden (Hudd or Brad?) or George Broughton or Fred Harris (all before my time) Lewis Jones from Llanelly, I think Harry Street was from Castleford, Don Robinson may have been Wakefield,
Bernard Poole was born in Leeds
You can add the following former greats who I think were all born in Leeds:
Leslie "Juicy" Adams, Jim Bacon, Harold Buck (first RL 1000 pound signing from Hunslet worth 140k at todays value) Geoff Gunney, Mick Sullivan, Alf Burnell,
Fred Webster was from Brotherton if that counts but sure about Brian Shaw.

Hunslet - a place that we’ve all forgotten about
There’s probably a few player from that neck of the woods who could end up in the Leeds Born XVII. For example Albert Goldthorpe who led the club to a lot of success.
Maybe if you can tell us what you remember or know about whenever these players were better than the ones put in the recent Leeds XVII list then go ahead. Lets do this for Leeds and show Wigan they only good because they the only professional Championship winning team in their city.
We have two
But still Wigan own us and Hunslet in the championship winning stats at 18 - 9

According to www.leedsrugby.com he was born in Morley.
If that's not the case I'll happilly put Jimmy Lowes in instead.

Bombay would walk into somewhere like Fev and put them to the top of SL within 3 years. Says it all.
