| Big Les ,a fabulous winger but Ryan Hall takes it for me.Nobody got the better of him club or country. No other winger made more meters on a consistent basis than him

| I'd take Vainikolo over Hall, at least before his knees gave up. Take the blue and amber specs off.

| Hall just edges it for me. If big Les had a weakness it was if a low kick was put through just behind him he could resemble an oil tanker slowly turning around !!
Two great players though and thoroughly nice guys too.

| Hall all day long. Big Les was a weapon in attack, but wqa a defensive liabilty when targetted. Hall is/was excellent in all aspects of the game. You could build a game plan to nullify Big Les - you can't do that with Hall.

Hall is/was a very average defender. Missing more tackles per attempt than most players. Don’t be blinded by his metres per carry stand out, that seems to have masked the poorer sides to his game. He was far from good at all aspects, but for our competition, those poor sides were never challenged. He will be found out on that next year if he gets to play. But we got his best years, and pleased with that.

How come the Aussies & Kiwis never found him out at International level?
