Got a good 3 or 4 years left in him yet Hurrell. He’s only 29. Id definitely keep him but not on marquee money. Clearly he’d still be on a good wage but if we can retain him and give us more cap space I think that’d be a good move.

Having said that I can see us going with Newman and Sutcliffe/Broadbent long term at centre. I think we’ll see Sutcliffe continue to improve over the next year or so, thought he was good back end of last

Yeh it’s an interesting one with Hurrell for 2022.
I’m sure most fans want him to stay.
But we have Newman, Broadbent and A Sutcliffe, so not sure about it.
If we think they can step up then we should give them the chance in 2022 and let Hurrell go.
But you wouldn’t want to lose him to a rival like Cas or Hull!
I think we’ll have other priority areas to fill in 2022 - wing, stand off, hooker....

I dont think Leeds see wing as a priority at all. Think they are than happy with Handley and Tom Briscoe as starting wingers.

Next year is stand off year and we need a top class one. But next year is next year lets concentrate on this year first.

I get what you’re saying but the planning for 2022 should already be underway. We should be planning the next 2-3 years to make sure we have the right team on the pitch, and the right pathways for the juniors we expect to make it.

I’d like to see us going back to having a largely homegrown team with a few top English players signed from other clubs and a sprinkling of overseas players to fill the positions we really need to go outside for. I’m pretty sure this is exactly what KS is aiming for.

How McClelland perform this year will be interesting.if he gets some time and impresses he could be in the team for years.

Not sure he will even be here in 2022, looks a championship player at best, see if Long can get him to step up another level.

Not been massively impressed myself but it would be good to see him in a decent team behind a decent pack.hard to judge him when he's playing in a team we know was going to get thumped.

He needs to be given a chance in the halves if either Gale or Lui are injured or out of form. I'd hate to see us move either Myler or Sutcliffe their without McLelland getting a shot at it.

He needs to improve his conditioning, he looks to have speed, but also looks like he's carrying too much timber

If Long doesn't improve him No1 will.

Can’t see McClelland ever making it at Leeds. Shame as I thought we had a great prospect on our hands when we signed him but he has not really kicked on. I hope this year will be his breakthrough year but I just don’t think it will be. Like most I think a top quality No 6 with pace and flare is our priority for 2022.

Interesting to see if things improve with our old conditioner back.
