Could be a useful addition to Squad Donaldson if he manages to earn himself a deal if he can keep off the injury list he's a very solid back rower who can rotate with out current back rowers we have,hope he train well and earns a deal.

Donaldson is willing enough but too small for SL.

Donaldson looks a good call, bargain bucket, but can fill in for Stevie ward when he is sat for 2/3 of the season on the side lines. and better than Jordan Thompson

There has been plenty of things us fans can moan about, but not sure how this is one of them.

It’s a trial. The best time possible for trials is preseason. What do we have to lose? He proves himself or he doesn’t.

It does seem against what a lot of us were thinking which is that we were clearing out some squad players to sign a quality prop. If we did sign Donaldson he would likely be seen as a squad player. But then I have no idea what Furner and Sinny are looking to do.

The reality is that if were unable to offload the likes of Walters, Mullally, Handley etc - we're probably unable to fit another high paid player under the cap (Ikahihifo etc)

Therefore the sensible thing to do would be to look at the likes of Donaldson, who i think was pretty good in his early days playing at Bradford with Whitehead (?) - as a stop gap.

If he proves himself, great. If not, no great shakes - a la Luke Thompson.

Sometimes players are thought average or not SL standard until they join the right team/coach. McShane and Amor for example. For some reason they didn't click at Leeds. (I was always a McShane fan).
