I thought Sutcliffe had a decent season for us last year. Then I happened to watch the 2015 season highlights DVD. Sutcliffe was WAY better back then - faster, and seemingly more skillful. I was shocked by some of the things he was doing - no wonder Brian Mac wanted to try him out over Sinfield for some of the time.

I understand the club don't want to add Sutcliffe to the long list of players we've let go too early or have gone on to better things. But come on. He's not developed in any significant way since 2015. It may have been a blessing in disguise if he'd gone to Cas, even if Powell seems to do well with ex-Leeds players.

Sutcliffe was tipped to be Sinfield’s replacement. I feel that put far too much pressure on the situation as the boots to fill were very big. I think he has been very professional the last few years as he’s been asked to play numerous places and not nailed down a position. I think if he puts a few kilos on he would be great 13, he’s got good hands, can kick, is good in defence and isn’t scared for the big carries, Sean O’Loughlin esque. That also solves the problems for more forwards in rotation. He just needs to be told that’s his position now nail it.

He can tackle but for me he isn't a good tackler,certainly when you compare him to someone like prior.i sympathise with him because he's been moved around from pillor to post but I can't help thinking that if he was that good a player he'd of cemented a place in the team by now.

I would prefer not to retain L Suttcliffe, s his best position, and he's been solid there both last season and in the 2017 grand final run. But we'v got more talented, younger and most likely cheaper options coming through. For me, the timings ideal, Suttcliffe and Hurrell play out there contracts this year with us, giving Newman the time needed so we dont have to play him until he's 100% and give Broadbent, A Suttcliffe, Hall a further year of development.

Thank Koni, Liam, Lui and L Briscoe for there efforts after next season and use there cap on a top quality 6 and a new wing or big prop, for arguments sake..Conner and Johhson as theyv been mentioned or maybe Tom Davies whos also very good

Thats a very exciting, skillful, fast, young...All English backline, with good Quality cover, that, without knowing the numbers, id imagine, is perfectly doable with the cap we'd save on Hurrell, Suttcliffe and Lui and L Briscoe. Leaves us with plenty of quota spots to work on the pack where needed aswel.

Maybe we should see how this season go's before planning for next......

You can do as you please, il have an eye on the future aswel as the present.

If hurrell has a decent year I think he'll be offered an extension.

So do I he's a crowd favourite. Whether he's offered same terms I'm not so sure but it's up to him to try and earn it. I also think we'll a fitter slimmer version of him. I think with the long off season training will do him and hopefully Lui a world of good. Thompson also said this his is first off season in many a year.

I want to have a look at how the side performs this year before making judgements.

We have a few players coming back from surgery, youngsters still developing, new coaching and conditioning team - lots of variables.

Swapping Tet and King in for Ava and Cuthbo - how much of a difference will this make? Don’t know.

Mik and Tommy with a few months conditioning in them could be good.

I expect our pack will provide a better platform most games this year, which throws the spotlight more on the back line.

Tindall could well be vying for Briscoe’s spot this season or next. It is vital to leave pathways available to young talent rather than buying short-term fixes all the time.

This side is a good few years off peak yet.

RE Hurrell

He said in a recent interview he really wants to stay longer, I think and hope he does, but I’m sure it won’t be as Marquee

I'd like him to stay to. Despite his tendency to drop the ball (much improved since moving to the right) he is perhaps the only player in our squad who other teams will dread defending against. More than that, he appears to like it here, an increasingly rare trait in overseas players. I don't care if he's "marquee" or not. He'll get paid what the club thinks he's worth. I'd be gutted if he went to a rival club that's for sure.

I've always loved the Rhinos to sign overseas players, But on the provision that they are far better than what we could have signed from over here

That starting back line named above would be great ,especially if no transfer fees were involved

I'd be gutted if players like Broadbent don't get a go regularly in the first team in 2021 and be a first team starter in 2022
